I am planning a trip to LOS in December and am thinking I need to see something different for once. I have been to LOS about 5 times in the last two years. Thought a trip to Vietnam for a week might be good - often times in my life the most beautiful women I have ever seen turned out to be Vietnamese). I really prefer a more "classy" type of venue. When I am in LOS I go to Club Orbit and Posiedon. Sometimes go to CM2, Spasso's or even Pegasus (just to give you an idea of my prefered haunts). Would greatly appreciate any tips from people who know the ins and outs of Vietnam.

no such places in vietnam as far as i know. you will get the usual discos and freelancer hangouts but no so called hiso places!
beware that it is nearly impossible to take any girls into your hotel room, esp. if it is a decent mid to upmarket place! so you will only be left with the more dirty bottom line of the market!

The top hotels that have their own disco with KTV rooms and hostesses will let you take the girl you choose from the premises to your room. One such place is the Sofitel Hotel in Hanoi (the one by the lake - there is another Sofitel).
But as Griffin, I do not know of any such places in Vietnam like the ones you mention for Bangkok.

You'll find beautifull enough girls in places like apocalypse now in saigon (compared to CM2, for example, I don't know the other cited places). I agree with smegma, the most beautifull girls often work in karaoke of upscale hotels, especially the one targeted at japanese, korean or taiwanese people... the price is also in relation...
Short-term hotels are usually quite clean, nothing to worry about....
Smegma, when I was there, this sofitel hotel also provided in room massage..... very convenient...

I would say that in relative terms there are less "working" girls at Apocalypse Now than there are at CM2 -at least a couple of years back [haven't been to Vietnam since]. Many "normal" girls go to Apocalypse Now. I am sure there must be a few new places in Both HCM City and Hanoi.
Yes, the girls at the upscale hotels do look verrry good.
Perhaps brother Padawan can give us an update about the situation in Vietnam.

So, if one were debating between a trip to Hanoi or a trip to Ho Chi Min, which would you brothers recommend? I liked the idea of the Hotel in Hanoi, but I believe Appocolypse Now is in HCM - right? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Very intrigued about the Sofitel in Hanoi. I have stayed there several times but never did imagine that one could avail of "services". Does the in-room massage there provide "full serivice".
I know the club/disco at the Fortuna provides for taking the lady home - cost about $120 - plus tip.
I usually go to the Hanoi hotel massage parlour and some of the ladies there will provide BBJ with hand release. Ask for Twee.

I been to Vietnam a couple of times this year! Apocalypse Now was real busy about 3 months back, large group of FL's more than previously.
Hotels are a problem in that most will not let you bring back guest to your room, but i'm told there are lots of ST Hotels.
HCMC is better for parting, Hanoi is for enjoying the sights. Stayed at Sofitel Hanoi couple of years back (was then the Westlake hotel?) but they had a strict no guest policy and guarded elevators! They had a great Nightclub/Karaoke Bar downstairs with some very beautiful ladies that would accompany you elsewere. Again they would do ST (i'm told) in smaller Hotels.

I was in this sofitel (the one near the lake), 1 year and half ago, and they offered in room massage for 30$, if I remember well the price. I decided to give a try and a girl came, who was not very beautifull, but still enough. After a standard massage she asked me if I wanted a hj. I told her I'd rather make love and she told me OK (I already had my hand were you know and she was already completely wet). No faking. I gave her 30$ tip and she seemed happy with it. Another day I asked for her again, and she came to my room, fresh after a shower.. and looking very happy...
There should be 2 girls at the massage place, but I only tried one.
As Oz said, HCMC is better for nightlife, but the city of Hanoi is more beautifull (there is still a french touch....). People are usually less trying to get money from you in Hanoi, but when they do, they can be much more agressive and brutal. Especially be carefull in some karaokes (that are not in hotels). Make sure they write for you the price of the rent of the room, of drinks, and never let them bring you stuff you did not order, they can charge them to you even if you did not consume them....
As concerns girls, in Vietnam it is of course more hidden and much less convenient than in thailand. No doubt about that.
There can be some changes from one year to another, so it is better to check with expats that hang up in bars, they usualy know.....
Never pay more than 50$, except in some upscale places...
