Hi guys,

next year I'll spend several months in Taipei/Taiwan. Of course hotels are nice, but they are so... tight... after some days.

Therefore looking for a serviced apartment in Taipei

- one bed room
- small kitchen or kitchen area
- central location (fast access to the highway/connection to MRT)
- swimming pool and gym if possible
- internet access by LAN
- rentable on a week base [I'll stay 2 weeks and come back after 2-3 weeks]

If somebody knows the Centre Point in Bangkok - that would be my favorite style.

Any suggestions?

You can look on http://www.tealit.com but the way it works in taipei is you choose where you want to live then go to the real estate agents in the immediate area and just tell them what you want including price. nobody advertises in the paper as they don't have time to sit around waiting for people. the real estate agents are good and know their neighbourhoods very well and have lots of connections which is the absolute most important thing in chinese society.
public transportation is very good in taipei but I recommend looking in the area where you will be working.
Tien Mu is the foreign ghetto and is very nice, clean, with-it but expensive. for me, open air baseball at night on real grass was great. around national taiwan university is good also, high density but good atmosphere. Da-An area is nice, central but pricey. Out near the domestic airport is also nice, tree-lined streets and very neighbourhoody.
Its not a big city so nowhere is really far away although Tien Mu can be 30-40 mins on the subway to the centre.
Shih-Lin area south of Tien Mu on the Red subway line, is nice also, good markets and coffee shops.
Subway is great so I suggest you try to be walking distance from a station.
you can PM me if you have more questions.
