IMHO, Taipei has one of the best nightlife in Asia, However, most of them is underground. You really need to know people and the language to get the most out of it. The price is high to very very high depend on where you go. You really has to be careful, becuase the club will often try to overcharge novice. I heard many story, where unsuspect punter were charge ridiculous price (eg.. USD 2000-3000) for a bottle of XO. Many of the club is controlled by mafia and if one does not pay, there is no tourist police to complain to. On the upside, the PR gir in taiwan is one of the wildest in Asia. There are many pub, where one can go and often hooked up with one of non-working girl. One word of caution, like many other asian country, taiwan has a big drug problem. many club girls (working and non-working) in taiwan is under the influence (eg. methamphetamine, MDMA, ketamine) Just be careful and stay away from them.
