Except that there has been a recent movement in Jakarta to close all places by 2 or 3am. I expect Stadium to be the same. The police are cracking down on drugs in Jakarta. Stadium has been raided a few times recently. I am assuming that when Ramadan hits, the new "curfew" for bars like Stadium will be in place. Stadium was good 5 years ago, but it looks like it is about to become obsolete.

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that Jakarta and Manila kill Bangkok in terms of nightlife these days. And - frankly - the local girls are twice as beautiful as 90% of the trash you find working in Bangkok bars these days.

Bangkok is pretty much horrible as far as nightlife other than beer bars and go-go's. Jakarta and Manila have always been better. CM2 may be the best disco in Bangkok and it's pathetic.
But lately Jakarta has been clamping down on the nightlife. There have been alot of raids by the police scouring for drugs. They have been conducting random urine tests on club goers during these raids. I would hate to be one of the people failing one of those urine tests. Imagine spending some time in an Indonesian jail. It wouldn't be pretty.

This seems indeed the case and there *is* a heightened police presence. Yet I was there till 5am on Sunday.

Anyway. Arrived at about 1AM on the 4th floor, where the club is. It looks like a 19th century theatre with a huge balcony and quite intriguing statues of mythological figures. I had to walk around and look very closely to see all these things, because the place it self is pitch dark. And I do mean PITCH black. You can’t see 1 meter in front of your eyes.
The music is totally my style: demonic thumping trance that simply belongs in the cave-like interior. I would say about 80% of the people are wasted on E - which results in the usual funny scenery: cuties rolling their eyes, trying to hug their ears with their cheek, total strangers who come for a well-intentioned hug. For the connoisseurs, you know what kind of venue I am talking about when most people are drinking bottles of water. People drinking liquor are the exception.
For the people who have been in Space in Ibiza, the atmosphere is like that, but the interior is nicer at Stadium – although I didn’t see anyone enjoy the pleasures of the White Lady on their tables. Then again, I didn’t see anything at all actually because of the aforementioned utter darkness.
As soon as you enter, a horde of mamasans will approach you with a wide selection of girls. Some *very* young: maybe 15 or 16. (This also goes for most of the girls in Blok M by the way. If you like a young girl, Jakarta is the place to be.) If this is your thing, you can engage in intimacies with your choice right there in a room on the 3rd floor – which also functions as a massage parlor for about 25USD an hour all in. This is absolutely not my thing, but I asked anyway, because my raunchy BTF brothers are always on my mind. As mentioned, the 3rd floor also has a wider selection of girls seated on dimly-lit couches to choose from. Taking a girl out for the night will set you back about 70USD. (700.000 rupiah.) The younger the girl, the higher the chances are for starfish behavior of course. Personally, I find 16 year old a bit exaggerated. I like young, but 16?
There are freelancers around, but most of then are totally f***ed out of their skull – which is in my experience a good thing. Just keep the carrot in front of the donkey.
Literary everything is available in those dark corners, but a bit of Indonesian helps a lot. As there is a massive language barrier in Jakarta. Very few people speak even the most basic of English.
I adore the Stadium because of the music, the interior, the moral degeneration, the scorching decadence – and the fact that it stays open till dawn. When you come out, you can have a delicious nasi gula with some satay ayam and one of those red fantas in the nearby footstalls. Ca, ca c’est la vie.
As mentioned before, due to a new police chief, there is a heightened police presence, so be careful when bringing anything potentially illegal with you, whether it’s a 15 year old girl or happy candies. When the cops want to search your car, insists on the fact that you want to stay inside, because they are known to plant things. Stay calm and realize that they are just looking for a bribe.

You have a point. Yet, Q and CM are still high on my list for stunners in Asia. As mentioned ad nauseam: for quantity go to LOS, for quality to the PI.
I just came back from Blok M in Palatehan and albeit it seems rather desolated during weekdays the girls that were present were s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g. But, again, VERY young. I’d say average age 18. So far the carnal performances of the girls has been rather disappointing though. They are sweet, smooth skinned with tight bodies, but rather innocent when it comes to sex. And they all seem to have hairy pussies.
It’s rather fun though to see the amazement in their faces when you go to standing position or teach them things like reverse cowgirl.
If you ever go to Blok M, don’t make the same mistake as me and *do* go to the Palatehan area, and NOT Melawi area – the latter is full of Japanese/Korean karaoke’s. Desperate after a long trip we ended up in one of these joints and it was atrocious. These girls are used to NOTHING and the bill was HUGE for a private karaoke room and 4 (!) drinks. Cultural differences aside, I pity those sexually ignorant Japs and despise them for messing up the attitude of these girls. All these girls are used to is singing and holding hands with these thwarted f***wits.
We had a private room and even a kiss was to much, let alone a BJ. When confronted with this, the mamasan replied that no Jap ever does anything more then put his hand on her thigh and get pissed. Some do take the girl home, but either they are to pissed to do anything, or they come after 3 minutes. Perfect customer for these girls, of course. The f***ers.
My apologies for the generalized racial slurs – I do realize it’s my own fault for knowingly entering this ghastly place. But, still, it put me in a terrible mood.
I got rid of it by rampaging a 19 year old from Manga Besar though.
There is a place there called Today Country – which is like LA Café in Manila. It opens from 12 noon till 1AM or so, and although its pitch dark again, it is great fun. Plenty of (high) school girls around after school looking for some extra cash to buy clothes.
Indeed, you read correctly: high-school girls. So again, be careful. The girls know this though and will take care of a discrete exit.

Some additional information from a PM from Jakarta connoisseur LookinFerLuv:
My Bar place is the hottest spot in blok m now. 400,000 for a short time is pretty big money. For a short time (about an hour and a half), you can give them 250,000 to 300,000. If you keep them all night, you can give them between 300,000 and 400,000 for a My Bar girl. I rarely give them less than 400,000 for all night unless they weren't any good. D's place is the place to go early in the night Blok M, My Bar is the place to go later in the night. There will be better quality at My Bar.
Stadium is still good as well, but I strongly suggest you do not do drugs if you go there. The police have been cracking down on drugs and it could lead to big problems is they caught you with them. They are even conducting urine tests believe it or not.
CJ's in the hotel Mulia is a hot spot, but the price of the girls goes up to 500,000 for the night there. The girls will ask for a million most times, but 500,000 is their price for the most part.
Vertigo is ok, but it's not as great a pickup spot as the others. If you are a bit agressive though, you can meet hotter women there than the other places.
Today's country is crap in my opinion. Too dark and the quality of girls is sparse. There can be a few cute ones, but their service usually sucks. For a whorehouse type of deal, Hotel Melawai 6th floor is the best place (although it is more expensive at 300,000 for an hour plus 50,000 tip). Sariayu is another great massage place, cheap with hotter women than today's country, but you probably won't be able to find it since it's in an obscure area so it's probably not a viable option.
BATS in the shangri-la hotel is good, but the girls are expensive. They will ask for at least 500,000. Tigah Puluh in the hotel meridien is also more of the same.

In regards to rarely giving them less than 400k, it's getting ridiculous over at My Bar. Just a little while ago it used to be 200 to 300k was fine for overnight. Now there are reports that they are asking for 500k to 1 million because people are crazy enough to pay that. It happened in Bangkok and it's going to happen over in Jakarta if people don't watch it. Once the women over there start getting that or hearing that, they will believe that's the price they are worth. It's a lot of money over there. Sure it might be cheap compared to where you are from, but there are other costs to coming over when you don't live there like hotel, airfare and actual vacation time. I know this sounds like a rant, but this is a difficult subject. People get excited or feel guilty and start paying amounts more than what they have researched thinking just once or no big thing. It is and it affects the whole deal and we could be hunting for another country or city to do our mongering.
Some people over there don't give a darn because they are making big bucks and they like the women to swarm them for the bigger money. Keep the thing in perspective, because no matter what you give them they will want more. For a short time in Blok M 200-250k is good. For a long time in Blok M 250 to 350k is good depending on the woman. A woman has to be exceptional to get 400k. If it's more than that you are most likely way overpaying and become a marked man. They will know what you pay the others and will expect the same if they are in the network. Once you get to 400k you are only $10 away from the women from CJ's and BATS and stuff. I'm not a big fan of those places as it's expensive and I don't think the women are really any different than what you see in Blok M. Although, you do seemingly see way more hotties approaching the fine scale but the numbers of such are very low. On average there is a better chance of landing a decent looking one in Blok M vs. those hotel bar discos. On the rare occasion you land an actually fine woman in those bars you'll most likely paying big bucks to get her. A lot of business travelers and oil service employees end up in these places and are willing to pay mega bucks given their short stay and an unwillingness to pay the normal going rate in so doing rasing the expectations of the women.
This is just my opinion and I feel for the women too. I am very kind and respectful to them as people. I know they are doing it for the money but also realize what's reality there. If you realize what people on average make in the service industry we are paying pretty good amounts to these women at the prices I'm quoting. They could care less what you buy them in drinks or food or clothes if you go that route. In the end, it's how much money you hand them in the end.
I know there will be some people saying this or that and we should pay more. Whatever. These message boards are supposed to enlighten people to reality. It's not meant to introduce people to these havens for us to let them screw it all up.
Hypersade or LookinFerLuv, I'm not accusing one of you trying to mess it up in my view. I'm giving my point of view of not just Jakarta but other places like Bangkok. Maybe if it was on the rare occasion that these prices are paid it would be no big deal. But I am hearing too many stories of crazy requests by the ladies in the Blok lately. Before you would never have to talk price before leaving. It was just a matter if they would like to come back with you. Now you might be looking at negotiating beforehand or having a mad woman on your hands in the morning if this inflation driven by mongers not sticking to what's decent and expected.
