ive been planning a 2-3 week trip to thailand in january before I head out to perth and bali with my girlfriend. one of the main things on my 'do' list is diving so ive been looking for diving schools in those two places. now that its time to book the flights ive got cold feet over it and I think id rather just spend the whole month in thailand/cambodia on my own. she isnt all that good looking and weighs about the same as two well fed ladyboys so shes getting dumped.
i believe that the east coast of thailand has had more shark attacks in recent years than anywhere else, so I guess there will be someone trying to make a few baht out of it. does anyone know of a shark diving tour or can you recommend a good diving school for me?
(ive used the search engine, but depending on how old posts are the information may be outdated - ie - someone on here says that x diving school is tip top.. and a week later they get 14 fat european tourists killed by sharks)

I'm heading to Phuket for the first time in September and will be diving there. I'll let you know what I find out after I get back. Do me a favor, PM me in early October in case I forget.

From Phujet there are numerous operators who will offer dives at 'shark point'. As the name suggests, normally you can find sharks here.

i want real sharks too. I think they have leopard sharks at sharks point. arent they pretty small and highly aggressive?.. or am I thinking of tiger sharks?
i dont know if great white pointers can be found off thailand, but I want really nasty f_cking people eaters so I can say ive done it properly. I dont want some little vegetarian shark swimming past me to attack a bit of seaweed.

black cats, I'm an happy diver and always use a really good team/tour operator while in Phuket.
So first, I recommend them and second there's only sleepy leopard-sharks in the area but talk to Sheldon at Dive the world (DTW) maybe he can help you with more info..
Say hi to Sheldon and Diego from James Velvet (the swede), I'm going there again in 2 weeks, so PM me if you want more info.
And for the real diving experience at Phuket, let me help you out..
I can point a few light weights for you and since I'm there before you, I'll try them out for you!
I even gonna take them in pair so they can compare to the dumped chick..

Save your breath guys, this is either a first-class troll - or a first-class nitwit. Wants "real" sharks (hotdamn!) but hasn't a clue whether there are great whites in Thai waters - and doesn't know the difference between tiger sharks and leopard sharks??? Oh, and BTW, doesn't know that there ain't no such thing as vegetarian sharks - anywhere. What he does know about sharks is obviously what he got from watching Nemo and reading politically correct baby books.

ciaociao, im not a shark expert. im not a diver. I just want to learn to dive and see some sharks. am I really that bad for wanting to learn to dive?

Don't worry about the mix up, I'm interested in LBFMs and diving too. I've actually got experience diving and know that you can't be overly specific with what you want to see. The idea is to dive in as many diffrent locales as you can and let yourself be surprised by what you encounter. This also applies for muff diving 55.
