I know there are many topics on condoms, but I can't find the one I'm looking for. I will be in Bangkok for a few months. I know they sell condoms for farang in Bangkok, but is it better to bring my own. I want to get the bulk box of condoms. Back in the US, I used to get a box with 36 for $11 US. Here in England, they go for $12 US for a box of 18. Can I buy the bulk box in Bangkok and how much do they go for? Do they sell the smaller boxes at a reasonable price as well? Many of the brands they sell in the US are made in Thailand, so I figure they should sell them in Thailand as well.

First couple of tours, I brought my own, not knowing what quality would be available and what conditions/length of time they might have been stored by local vendors. Nowadays I buy at Boots or Watson's pharmacies which carry Durex brand and, I hope, are more likely to have stored/shelved them with reasonable care. They generally don't have the big (12 or 24?) packs and I can't remember the price for a three pack, but it's obviously not so exorbitant as to cause me concern.
Last trip (August) I bought three Durex three packs of Featherlight at the Watson's under the new Nana Centre and was handed four free sample condoms - packaging all in Thai except the name One Touch. I didn't try them out but just now, looking them up on the web, I find they have 5% benzocaine in the lubricant - at my age that's the last thing I need in a condom.
Alternatively, if you are ona budget, there's always the skip around the back of the Nana Hotel... just wash them out first.

Look for the Durex "Comfort" brand in any drugstore - even in some 7-11s. These are "falang-sized", approx 52 or 53 mm (vs the 49mm local-sized). Never seen large boxes of these, and they normally sell at THB 55 (US$ 1.5) for a box of 3.
