Now, here is another question, what do you think needs to happen in order for P4P to be totally erradicated? Let's not worry that it won't happen, just want to find out what would cause it to be eliminated entirely, who can help make it happen? At one time I wanted to try this social experiment, where I'd take 10 girls out from the bars, set them up with a decent job that pays them more than enough to live on, and teach them all the various skills on how to make money, and keep it. And with this stable financial situation, find out, if they'd revert to P4P.

If you've found one that wants to leave Thailand (and not come back after divorce), then you've got a needle in the haystack or it is bullshit.

True, and these alternative forms need to be higher paying than what is available. Work 10 hrs standing on your feet and make 150-200 baht or sleep all day, hang out with friends and have a farang f*** you once for 1000 baht. Easy to put morality aside in these circumstances.

In LOS it would take some radical steps to drive P4P underground. Police would need to be on board - so big pay rises and financial incentives to MIB for coming down hard on this kind of behaviour. It would cost loads as their losses would need to be covered & they would need an incentive as well. Punters, girls, bar operators, property owners who allow it to happen on their premises, would all need to be hit with penalties - fines, prison, deportation, confiscation of property, whatever it takes to get the message home that it is no longer acceptable.
Other measures alongside this could be:
* changes to the education system so children have to stay in school until older (18?) & make books & tuition free;
* limited (e.g. 2 extra employees) Government financial incentives (tax cuts/grants) to firms that recruit and train additional women;
* a proper social security & health system that looks after its citizens;
* a proper system for collecting & recording taxes;
* financial incentives paid to entertainment related businesses that have a "clean" record of not allowing P4P on their premises.
That would be a start to getting it off the streets and driving it underground.

the primary motivation of prostitution is money, this service is provided mostly by women & men (too) from poor and uneducated background. These men & women wouldn't have a chance in a hell to make this sort of money in the normal job market. It can be quite addictive for them to see that steady flow of cash, most of the prostitutes who work in bars come from other provinces. They quickly create that sisterhood network they need to survive, they get all the excitement and attention nightly. However that feeling doesn't last forever, they get emotionally tarred over period of time. Once inside this seedy world it's hard to escape or even wanting to escape. How many times you heard stories when gullible men try to sponsor girls out of the bar, sending monthly salary for them to stay home in their provinces only for these girls to return to work in bars after a short while. You can take the girl out of the bar but you cannot take the bar of the girl.
And while this hold true in developing countries, here in the west it has evolved, in some cases, to a proper job industry. Escort agencies and independent escorts charge hefty fees to punters, many women make more money in a week than regulars punters can make in a month. We talking about here in Blighty of £300 + per hours / £2,000 + overnight. Fees twice as high are often demanded by porn stars and models. This is a very mobile market, escorts/porn stars/models travel from country to country to visit wealthy punters (who pays them business class air ticket, 4 star + hotel accommodation, meal at top restaurants and entertainment at trendy theatres). Lots of these escorts travel to work in UK for a couple of years and then move to USA and maybe Australia. In other words they are like sport stars employed by teams (agencies) who are able to boost their booking by the virtue of having them on their books. The rotation is high because punters want new girls, and also because after a while working for an agency they go indie, setting up a website working for themselves.
as you can see the sex industry is varied and not that monolithic, bad environment notion of women forced to sell their bodies that liberal/socialist media would like you to buy. Yes of course there are sad cases of human trafficking, women lured into prostitution. This industry will never go away because it's there to serve the two basic human needs: 1. sex (men & women buying it. In the west there are many wealthy middle aged women who use male escorts) 2. money (women and men making quick easy money without needing skills or education).
Live with it, accept it and use it whenever you feel like.

BK, this social experiment has already been done many times. It has created many civilizations and cultures, collectively known as The West and has caused a mass stampede by male inhabitants of these social experiments to places like LOS. I think it is about time an end was put to these social experiments and the social scientists responsible taken outside and shot.

IMO, the only way it will ever "cease" is if there were a sudden surge of morality that overwhelmed the population. For all the reasons above many women and men enter the trade either on short term or long term basis. Yes, money is what is a primary focus. But if the population started "believing" the practice was bad, it would end. They don't so IMO, it won't
BK, many of us have had the same urge to 'rescue' 10 girls for the experiment. But in order for it to be successful, your interviewing process, much like normal job applications, would have to be thorough to ensure you chose the ones who really have the work ethic to keep a non P4P job.
Of course the ones that don't, would probably screw you legless, which isn't so bad either.
How about looking for 10 girls that have never been in P4P and corrupting them? That's usually Thaidup's idea!!!

Phew, interesting debate... maybe I find some time to contribute elaborately soon...
For now just a small statement: These two things, elimination of prostitution and ability of BGs to live a different life, are two things which are not related to each other. In other words: it does not depend on the girls character, attitude or whatever to start or stop prostitution...
