As having never been to BBK I have no idea about the distances between various places.
Can someone tell me how far it is between Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza? Also, what is pedestrian traffic like around mid December along Sukhumvit?
What I'm trying to work out is am I able to walk to the different places along Sukhumvit and down its various Soi's (Soi 1 to maybe Soi 24)?
BK, are the maps you have supplied to scale (or close to it)?

You could walk from Nana Plaza to Soi Cowboy. It would probably take you about 15 minutes. If you took a cab, it would be between 5-15 minutes (depending on traffic).
Nope, the maps are were never done with scale in mind. They are just indicators to locate the entertainment spots.

Keep in mind that unless you are from a very hot and humid climate, if you do 15 minutes of walking in BKK, you are likely to wind up sticky if not wet with perspiration -- and believe it or not, good grooming counts if you want the ladies to like you.

Last week I was walking from Soi Cowboy to NEP and it took me exactly twenty minutes. But this is of course depending on the traffic...! If you do not want to walk during the night, I recommend you to take a tuktuk.

People have already pointed out the time for walking from one place to another along Sukhumvit. During December, particularly in the evening, the weather should be very agreeable for this. But you also asked about going down the Sois. Some of them are very deep and can be a considerable side trip. So make sure you have a destination in mind before just hiking down the adjacent Sois. Especially since there's not too much to be found more than a couple of 100 meters down most of these.
Also, other areas you might want to go to, like Patpong or Siam Square/ CM2 disco are much farther away. You could walk it, but it would take a long time, more like a hike. And I'd guess from Nana Plaza to Soi 33 would be about double or so the walk compared to NEP--> Soi Cowboy. And Soi 4 to Soi 33 is shorter than walking from Soi 4 to Soi 24, so don't get fooled too much by the numbering.

You can also use the sky-train to get around from Nana to Asok staion (Soi Cowboy) And you can go to Patpong. Easy to use and cheap. You can get a 1 or 3 day pass. Sky-train closes at midnight. 4 days

I used the skytrain, but the stairs are too much for me. But as you say it is very good value for just Baht 10 for one station from Nana to Asok and I really loved the aircon inside. On the other hand I did not buy the 1 or 3 day pass as I did not use the skytrain that frequently.

Bandito, most of the Skytrain stops now have at least one escalator going up. The trick is figuring out where it is. By Murphy's Law it's usually not where you need to be. For example the one for Nana is over by the Soi 7 Beergarden and not near the Landmark where I usually need it. I am lazy so I'll cross Sukhumvit there at Soi Nana so that I can use the escalator going up. I'll also walk across the bottom part of the Skytrain platform, once inside, to use the escalator up to the train platform. Saves alot on perspiration.

I was not too serious about mentioning the stairs, you will have to excuse me...! But if you have already made it from NEP to Soi 7 you can easily walk all the way. Or taking a tuktuk from NEP to Soi Cowboy for Baht 50.

Once more, I forgot to mention it in my previous post. It took me 12 minutes from Soi Cowboy to Soi 7 and 8 minutes from Soi 7 to NEP. If I remember this right...
