Well guys, haam sup's cruel and cantankerous heart almost stopped this morning.
Little Ant, who is my Increasingly Significant Other, became yet another Moto-taxi statistic, out in the distant suburbs of Rangsit. The Moto guy didn't have a passenger helmet for her to wear.
She was able to tell me about it, thank the Cosmic Muffin.
Drunk driver in a truck hit another car, and left her moto driver no where to go but down. He's hospitalized in pretty bad shape, and Little Ant had her (helmetless) gong rung and a tweaked leg. She was afraid to go to sleep, because a friend of hers did a few months ago, under similar circumstances, and didn't wake up.
She got x-rayed at the hospital, and apart from an elevated serum asphalt level  , and some serious aches/pains, she will be OK. She is resting at home now.
Just 2 days ago, I received some nice medicine from her for my achy-breaky stuff, and now I have to return it! (not)
Seriously, this scared the living shit out of me, and along with the helplessness of not being able to be there, the mental picture of such a little cutie, dressed in business attire, bouncing along the pavement and being injured, makes me sick...
So please think good thoughts for her, and make sure your loved ones wear brain-buckets, or better yet, NEVER ride those damn moto-taxis.

Afraid to sleep because her friend didn't wake up? Sure, friend probably was concussed and went into coma. Ant should have been checked at hospital for head trauma. No, wait, that would require a competent doctor.
Keep her awake. Check her pupils. Ask her if she's got headache or ringing in the ears. Check her balance. If she's doing okay at nightfall let her sleep. Any problems, get her a skull X-ray and CAT scan ASAP!

She did go to the hospital, and got her melon x-rayed - I told her to go back if she had any of the symptoms you described, and her siblings are watchinig her.

You didn't tell me you had "better half" her the land of craziness.
I too have tasted the pavement, it's an accured taste I think as it pretty much sucked for me.
I hope she will be okay. If there is anything I can do for you or her on my end let me know.

Damn, that's a shame. Very glad to hear she's OK. I know quite well what it's like to be on the other side of the world when a crisis strikes your tee lak. (I've been experienced that and mine was a life and death situation. I'm determined NEVER to face that again.)
I'm indeed thinking good thoughts for her. And I extend the same offer as Krypto so kindly did -- if there's anything I can do...

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your good thoughts.
As an old moto-x racer, and street rider, I know I couldn't survive road rash at my age - luckily Little Ant is a bit younger, and tougher than I would have guessed.
I will call her in a few minutes, and check her out by phone...

Well, I guess this says it all:
"Head hurt OUTSIDE, not INSIDE...", so I guess she just has a knot on her head...and a bruised-up leg. The leg will take some time to evaluate, but I will get her to go see someone properly trained to make sure she doesn't have anything nagging...at least it's not broken.
Thanks to all who have PMed me and expressed best wishes here...you really find out who your friends are when something like this happens...
I will post her progress, now and then.
