No doubt I got the wrong end of the stick, but if, like me, you just want to watch UBC in one room at any one time, but want the connection run to 2 rooms you can buy a remote box from UBC install guy for 1,000 baht, which comes with a second remote control, ie one for bedroom, one for lounge, but you can only receive one channel at a time, but change channels at either location.

For anyone with a brain. You can install a splitter to your set top box - run that into your bedroom. For your Thai Girlfriend - buy a conventional antenna. Cable TV is a waste on them. All they want to watch are the soap operas & game shows. When you get up to go to bed switch her over to Thai TV. Hotels are on networks not 30 cm dishes. BTW - UBC offers to let me upgrade my 3 Set Top Boxes to Digital for a mere 17,000 baht. I guess I'll wait.

Just buy a wireless VDO transmitter. Cheap and easy to use, together with additional remote controls.

Seacon Square Shopping Mall. 3rd floor, big section with a lot of small shops. (market place feeling) Look for the shops at the end selling all kind of electrical gadgets and stuff. 3.000 thb for decoder.

slowx > The strange part there is the splitter box, my guy just ran the cable into my decoder and then ran another cable out of the decoder to first tv and another cable also out of the coder to the remote link upstairs, no splitter, all cables coming direct out of the decoder, wherever a splitter is used the picture will not be as good, there are booster type splitters, but I don;t know how good they are. I live nr Seacon, these decoders for 2,000baht, presumably we still need a subscription to UBC ? why would we buy the box from Seacon ? To avoid the deposit ? or is there a chance value for money is available in thailand, all be it illegally ?
