I think you guys are being a little too rough on this young lady. After all, she is only expressing her desire for a nice man regardless of socio economic standing. I think the anthropologist's reply was quite soft if you think is for a model.
Shall we talk how miserable is the real life of an average model? How many daily compromises she has to pass through? How fragile is their own ego?
Shall we talk how schizophrenic is a model? Even Adriana Lima gets more rejections than approvals on her daily castings but then, any model gets a queen treatment when she walks the street.
As any western woman in LOS, also a model feels the lack of our attentions, but this is unbearable for her, as for anyone who has serious problem with ego.
And then again, talking about charm vs money, have you ever seen a model (who "had boyfriends from a range of socio-economic levels" ) hanging out with a plumber?
Beside that, I must admit: I don't like Pattaya and cockroaches, but I love LOS and why not, I like shagging models as well.

The disillusionment of coming to LOS, going to a nice beach resort like pattaya expecting to find the club med of the US navy. It must have been horrible for her, not a single buffed seaman with good manners in sight.
All these "cockroaches" exploiting all these fine Thai ladies......oh the horror.
The anthropolgist was too reserved in his comments imho. It should have been more in the tune of........heh bitch, you go to a town that was built on the sex industry expecting to find men, and women of high standards, get real. I see more fear in your reactions, than contempt.
When you make your living by exploiting your looks, and body, as you do in your modeling, it's not to much different than what you were observing with the TGs.
Having had many boyfriends from all social levels as you have, doesn't the similarity to the TG's astound you. The word slut comes to mind in your case rather than prostitute.
Isn't the real fear that when your looks finally go, and they will, the whole illusion, and expectations that are in place to maintain status in the modelling world will vanish, leaving you in a position that forces you to feed off those same "cockroaches". It happens all the time, and it really scares you doesn't it?

I think that this Aussie Sheila model is missing the point. All these guys are doing valuable social work and should be viewed in that light. That's how I see myself, as a sort of Social Worker. After all, without the P4P scene, what would all these poorly educated Isaan girls do? If they get divorced at a young age because maybe their husbands womanise, drink, gamble and beat them, how else are they to raise their children, if all they have to offer is their looks? So they are effectively working in well paid employment, providing a service for payment and their looks are paramount to their success. A bit like modelling in many ways!
I really hate the sex part myself and would dearly love to just give them the money. But it would be an insult to the girl, as she has her pride and couldn't feel right about accepting charity from strangers out of a sense of their pity for her. She would rather feel as if she has earned the payment. So I grit my teeth and think of England, but afterwards get a warm feeling of satisfaction in the knowledge that because of me she can send money to her family and children, pay the rent and eat that day.
I therefore resent being labelled as a cockroach when my motives are entirely altruistic.
As I say, what would these poor girls do without us?
It's all a bit similar to the Vegans who won't even use any part of an animal, let alone eat it. Don't the silly idiots realise that without people eating animals, or using them for clothing accessories, there would be no reason for several species to exist. Take cows for example. If nobody drank their milk or ate their meat or used it for leather, what would they be here for? As they are otherwise useless to mankind, whole herds would be culled. Is that what they'd want?
Perhaps the Aussie Sheila model should think more along these lines. I don't think that she's exactly the sharpest nail file in the manicure set.
