MO that is utter f***ing Bullshit! That would be akin to letting terrorist's have their way. Actually many Non-P4P Thai's have little knowledge of NEP & SC and when it spills out in the street at 1:00 AM most are in bed. Given that Sukhumvitt contains the Emporium and many upscale restaurants and bars I think it is the wrong advice to succomb to the scumbags. I myself would have grabbed that guy's crotch and squeezed until his eyeballs popped out. Thai's will let two farangs duke it out and not get involved and if you would have lost the fight you would have won the battle in your TGF's eyes.

There are essentially 3 problems here....
(1) Many farangs when they go abroad suddenly seem released of all social decency and start acting as complete prats - doing things they wouldnt dream of at home. For instance I have a villa in Phuket and at least once a week, a couple of farang just wander in and start wandering around. WTF. I have no idea why farang on holiday abroad believe it is a license to act badly.
(2) Secondly, so many farang simply believe that virtually all Thais are hookers. This partly reflects their own country where a high percentage of TGs are actually ex-BGs. I know of a number of TGs who live abroad who constantly complain they are treated like hookers by both farang men and women. The media portrayal of Thais doesnt exactly help. Finally, as we know from this board, many farangs experience of Thailand is solely restrictied to p4p and they judge every TG as a BG.
(3) Finally, the Thais themselves are incredibly passive. If you approached western girls in the way most farang approach TGs, they would tell you to f*** off. TGs just tend to look embarrassed and go silent which the farang often takes as a vaguely positive sign. One of my TGs will complain to me something like 'I cant believe that guy came up and jeeped me. He is old, ugly, poor and uneducated. What makes him think he is vaguely in my league?' Then I ask her what she said to him. 'Oh nothing... I just ignored him.'
Finally, of course you shouldnt hang around Nana or SC. It is fine to say that a 'girl shouldnt be treated like she is p4p until she makes it obvious' and that is absolutely correct. You have to be realistic though - in that there will always be some asshole hanging around who will treat a girl around these places as a p4p girl irrespective of whether it is right or wrong. You cant change these people but you can try to avoid them.

I don't know about you but when i'm out on the town with my girl the last thought in my mind is playing vigilante hero against a bunch of rejects from the western world. I prefer to have a nice quiet night out that is trouble free. Let's face it a lot of farang joints are seedy and usually attract the wrong elements so I will avoid them when out with a normal girl. It's the same concept in the U.S. I wouldn't be taking my date to Compton for a nice dinner date either.
On the otherhand if someone goes out of their way to make trouble for me then I would have no problem with confronting the issue.

To say that non P4P thais should keep out of lower sukhumvit is the most arrogant thing I have heard for a long time. As Yurune said. this is Thailand and Thais have a right to walk anywhere without stupid f***ing sex tourists either assuming they are hookers and, even if they are, not physically assaulting them in public.
There are numerous office blocks, hospitals, restaurants and legitimate businesses around lower sukhumvit. Should they be relocated so that some loser farang who can't get laid in the west is free to grope any girl he wants?

Well MO is wasn't a group of guys, but a single guy as described by Jojje. Anyhow I forsee in the near future the sqeeze out of both NEP and SC. Yes the freelancers will remain, but IMHO the P4P scene will be greatly be contained in Pattaya. This will be accelerated by the opening of the new airport next year. We have already see the shut down of 3 major areas on Sukhumvitt in the last couple of years to make room for shopping centers, hotels, condo's and parks.
I think only Soi 33 and Soi 22 will remain and SC and NEP will to going down in a couple of years. Police harassment is a start in that effort.
Anyhow the following reader submission from Stickman shows what can happen to a guy if he gets out of line. The Thai's will not be so compassionate in their beatings
"I have been friends with a certain Sukhumvit freelancer for the past four months. Last week, she was physically assaulted by a customer on lower Sukhumvit. I live nearby, so she called and asked if I could help her. She arrived at my place in tears and shaking. After I finally got her to tell me what had happened, she wanted to know where she could hire a "bad boy" to teach him a lesson. I thought that she would cool off in a day or two, but a couple of days later she hired a Thai guy to get revenge. She even accompanied the hired-hand to watch as her wishes were carried out. They told the security guard at the customer's building not to get involved and then they waited for him to come downstairs. When he finally arrived, the Thai guy gave him a beating that resulted in a black eye. He also held a small knife to the guy's throat and told him to never treat a Thai lady like this again. Supposedly, he moved out of his room the following day. My friend said that she felt better, but still regretted what she had done. What's the price for Thai street justice? She paid 3000 baht (a lot more than I thought it would be!)."

My wife's girlfriends like going to Gullivers (Soi5) and to Hard Rock Bangkok and when in town, Hard Rock Pattaya - they enjoy the music and the "no hassles" atmosphere - none of them are P4P - they can only afford to go about once a month - they don't go to pick up, they go for a good night out - this is usually a group of 4 or 5 girls with no guys and they find 99.9% of farangs understand what "No thanks" means.
One d-ckhead farang does not mean all should be regarded this way - thank God the Thai's can see that! Enjoy.
