Been in Thailand a longtme. Most fights are Brits & Aussies. By the same token there are some fine Brits & Aussies in Thailand. The drunk ones belong in jail or go home and fight.
The bar is in Patpong area. The guy at the bar is a well known barker/alligator. Usually hoodwinks Japanese.

I remember this discussion many many years ago in this same forum. Must be buried in the past.
I think two reasons that were given at the time (with which most agreed) for why this seems to be more common among anglo-saxons are:
1) Culture of looking at alcohol as something bad that they cannot touch at all when growing up. In other cultures, parents have not such a big taboo about their teenage children having one glass of wine or champagne or a even beer when there is a family celebration. Those in cultures when there is STRICT ZERO drinking at all times when young, are more likely to then drink just for the sake of getting drunk.
2) Better economics. Countries from with a majority of anglo-saxons developed earlier and better than most other countries. Being richer countries for longer has allowed people there to have a better standard of living. That better standard of living means that someone who has been working say as a construction worker for 20 years in Brighton may be able to afford a holiday in Phuket; whereas the equivalent construction worker from Phuket does not have enough money to go holiday in Bali. In all countries there are those assholes that would behave badly when abroad. It just happen that economics allow for more brits and aussies assholes to travel and rub shoulders with others. Poor assholes cannot travel abroad; thus why we don't see them.

I think it has to do with education.
Most of these countries mentionned are colonials or byproduct of colonialism and from my experience (in general), those poeple just think that they are on top and all else is inferior.
Mix that with alcohol (which kills inhibition) and the product is just plain vulgar.
