Yes thought of that, devo's think alike, but I like to reserve the visa run for samples of another country. Like no good taking rice to China, or sheep to New Zealand, why take a Thai to Philippines. Also next visa in July I might have to take missus to Bali and 6 weeks is to long to wait to jump this little one again all night.

yes the missus was kinda primed last night, shit she has never done something like that before. Yes, the visa run is a not to-be-missed opportunity (make those Thai bureaucrats work for you!) Increase your scope by dumping proper visas in favour of point-of-entry stamps every month, then moan constantly about the inconvenience.
On any trip from home, always leave a day before you have to and/or return a day before you're expected (more than one day, obviously, if you think you can get away with it). Whine piteously about how long you had to be away.
Most other excuses have to be work-related and tailored to fit. Try to establish regular patterns of unavoidable absence. No matter how fictitious the original expedient, regular repetition will lend it credibility. Don't forget to whinge about what a bore it all is. If plausible, irregular one-offs (eg, business invitations to stay at hotels) should also be slotted into the repertoire in case you have urgent short-term absence needs. These are also maddening impositions, but after all what can you do? Someone has to put up with all this shit to put food on the family table, and.... well, you drew the short straw. All wives, GFs etc can identify with martyrdom, so give it all you've got.
The key is proper preparation. All excuses/alibis etc should be properly teed-up well in advance of need. Ad libbing on the spur of the moment nearly always leads to disaster. The earlier you can 'book' your absences, the more credibile they will be. Ý Ý Ý

I have used several excuses to be away, and the best one i have are business related. (such as a meeting out of town etc). YThis only realy works if you do such things as a matter of course. If not, I think a friends Birthday, stag night, golf outing, celebration etc would be best. Weddings casue problems coz she will wondwer why she isnt invited.
For any excuse to stand up to close scrutiny it can help to have some supporting evidence (eg soap/shower gel from the hotel you were supposed to be staying at, postcard posted rfom where you were supposed to go. Best of all is a mate to vouch for you without actually vouching (say a few weeks/days before to talk openly of the event in front of her, and again to refer it to it a few day/weeks later()

the problem with the work related excuse is that I do not work, lol, so she can see straight through that one. I have rehashed that idea for new business ideas and meetings etc and it is becoming a little tired with the missus as I also use it 2 to 3 times a week to go out on the town at night. And yes I have used the martyrdom guilt complex many times, usually to end a problem rather than start an excuse but.
As for planning, I have always found that if I tell her a week or so in advance I am going away, the first day is the sads and whys, but from then on its all posistive and I have gotten away with it again. Even a night out is better if told the day before or at least the morning. The last minute going aways or outs are when you get the greatest grief. But I have to admit my missus is very darn good about it all. Last trip to Pattaya I told her the day before, late in the afternoon and I had to put up with about 1 hour of silent treatment.
In the mean time, my little friend is becoming sexually frustrated and requires a good full on night of sex. Last saturday we were in a night spot and she put my mobile phone to her fanny and got my friend to repeatedly call my number. When the service died out she was so horny we had to excuse ourselves and depart early. After 2 and a half hours of sex I was buggered and tired and wanted to go home, she said 'just one more please'. Serious excuse needed seriously fast.
And now she wants me to tie her up as well, whoohoo.

You've just received an email about a business opportunity that requires you to go to Kanchanaburi (far enough to require staying over one night but perceived as safe as there's not much action up there).
You can tell your missus that this company is very serious (show her the email) and tell her they are even sending a car to pick you up (which also lends additional credibility to the story).
A pre-arranged car (either book one or ask a brother to do a favour) then picks you up at your place and takes you to meet your cutie. You can then return home at your leisure the following day. Ý
Maybe good for 2 or 3 more excursions if you play it right.

the Kanchanburi idea sounds ok, problem with car pick up is that it will call to the house and the missus might talk to the driver, unlikely, but you never know. The best laid plans have come undone by smaller unforseen incidents. And if the driver is booked to go to Kanchanaburi, then he might be pissed when I say drop me off at so and so. I guess I could always actually go there with her, but I don't want to spoil her and have her expecting to much. She's getting a little clingy already, so best to keep it basic.
