Hmm possibly go to your room , without your consent.
These kind of scams usually have 2 pre-cursors
a) Establish familiarity.
b) Make a point of contact.
It's easy for others to say what you did was Ýstupid/dumb etc , but you seemed to be in control , and by highlighting this scam ( ie by actually going along with it ) you may have saved some other bro a lot of money.

Both threads cautionary tales. ÝCan happen anywhere; to me in KL 10 years ago. ÝHad read about it in Lonely Planet, but never put it together until I got to the house (girl student at bus stop wanting to convince her parents to let her study in USA, oh look, there's my cousin just happening to drive by, he'll take us...) oh, Mom had to go to hospital, but here's lunch (thankfully, not drugged), and, here's my uncle, the dealer. ÝSince my IQ had dropped to 50 for getting into the unknown car to an unknown destination, I just kept it at that level (don't play cards, don't gamble, can't add, don't like to sit down ...). ÝEventually they gave up, and did get out of there with only a tale to tell.
But you have to ask yourself - if they still do it, it must be successful sometimes. And who says it's their money on the table?

2) Re-rounds of further hassle.
They know where to find You , phonecalls and other shit You do not want.
3) If they are cold-blooded enough , they simply go into the restaurant of the HTL and make a giant bill for You.
