Here's another reply to the letter from the Australian "model". It was published on the November 09, 2004 edition of the Nation. I am really hoping that the "model" would send in a reply.
Vitriol of ‘model’ criticising Western men is surprising
The recent letter from the Australian model who commented disparagingly about older Western men who have young Thai wives was broadly speaking correct in her description of their general behaviour and appearance, even though they are in the minority.
What was surprising however was the venom she brought to bear on the subject, which leads one to believe that she was probably not a model at all, but rather a predatory competitor unhappy to discover that those “older” Western men had found an alternative to... obese, pint-swilling, combat trouser-wearing, smoking, swearing, nagging Western females, a discovery she probably found hard to come to terms with.
A true model, moving in a different social strata and therefore unconcerned, would not have bothered to comment.
