In 10+ years here I have never heard of a 'nice girl' being groped on the street, anywhere along sukhumvit, let alone a bar girl.
However, I have heard complaints from office girls of being felt up by expats at networking events at foreign chambers, in 5 star hotels in Bangkok so it must be going on.
I live on soi 10 and regularly walk with the missus to buy dvds and things along sukhumvit at all hours, so clearly there are not that many groping sex tourists hanging around.

Anyone else to assume the contrary just labels you as a total idiot.
Lastly, it is EXACTLY this kind of behavior (obviously rationalized by some animals) that is motivating and encouraging the Thai authorities to crack down on the farang frequented p4p spots, with early closing times, alcohol restrictions, etc... Yet, apparently, it's those same guys complaining about that.
Well, 'cause and effect', my friends... If you are the cause, then don't complain about the effects (unfortunately, many of us have to carry the burden of these morons' irresponsible behavior).

Yeah I suppose thats the reason for the crackdown (???) the odd *foreigner* groping some girl on the street....nothing to do with sex tourists taking thai girls up to their hotel room and f***ing them for 1000 baht...... or an expat at 500 baht because they are in the know on where to save a few baht...

A few comments from an outsider, not familiar with LOS.
What Jojje describing is a sexual assault, in the West it could very well land you in court. It was not a bottom pinching or a mistaken approach and I am not surprised the girl was upset. Regardless of her status or occupation she should not have been subjected to this on a public street, a working girl may have been more resilient and been able to treat it more philosophically but that would not make it right. I can not see any excuse for this behaviour anywhere in the world.
