Surely part of the GF experience is the illusion of a lady that's in love with you,,, and as your part in the collabaration is you also are in love with her. It's harmless enough as long as you realise its an illusion and its reality in your mind should only last the time you two are together.

I appreciate what you are saying Mel (and thanks for not mentioning camels) but it strikes me as manipulation.
Why pretend to be in love, when you can enjoy real affection and companionship?
While to judge by the reports, more men are lovestruck than ladies, I am sure there have been many young ladies who had their emotions toyed with.

Emotions toyed with you say?
When I am with a BG her emotions are the last thing I want to toy with – too many other play things around. And my emotions are the last thing I want her to play with as well. But somehow emotions usually end up being involved – Here’s hoping that emotion is ecstasy.

Perhaps I am an asshole as this threads title says if you get a broken heart you are an asshole?
Well OK maybe I don't end up with a huge broken heart just a minor scrape.
I rather judge a very good night by how I feel as I watch the girl walk away in the mid morning. A little feeling pulling at my heart most often means the night with her was a good one 
I still let her walk away in the morning.
The brain is a complex thing. A dream at night can seem as real as if it really happened. I am unsure if times like this are any less real to the primitive part of the brain that produces these feeling.
My guess is they are just as real. The thinking part can look at it as an illusion and rationalize it that way however I think for the primitive part that has those scapes of the heart it is real.
Lucky humans don't just decide what to do based on the primitive feelings and can look back at it with the rest of our brain
You can call it an illusion if you want but as far as the brain is concerned I think it can be as real as anything else. There may be no long term hope so the person will call it an illusion or whatever you want to justify the odd feelings after spending only a night or a few days with a girl to protect ourselves longterm. Most often a very wise thing to do I would say.
However I am no longer sure if that means what you feel when you are with a very good GFE girl means your experience is an illusion.
Her role may be an illusion giving you what you want but the experience is just the same as if it was not that way.
Hmm? That didn't make much sense now I think about it?

OK rather put it this way. As far as the part of the brain that deals with a broken heart is concerned it is not an illusion but is real. That is why you can have those GFE feelings. If it was not real for that part of the brain you wouldn't have those feelings.
To the thinking part of the brain we can see that really it is an illusion or call it that. However that doesn't lesson the experience to say it wasn't real. It was real it just was only meant to be for a short time. We rationalize it and say it was an illusion so we can move on and let her walk out the door in the morning or we would end up getting into a lot of trouble.
For some it can be a very hard line to walk and keep both in balance without letting the more primitive part of the brain start to take over and dictate our actions.
Oh well enough of my dribble I don't think this even makes sense anymore

ROTFLOL! There's an entire forum dedicated to women falling for Thai guys - and guess what? It's an exact mirror image of what is going on with TGs and BGs.
I forgot where I originally found it - but you have the entire canopy of situations we read about here nearly weekly: sponsorships; guys taking money and disappearing; swearing undying love and having a Thai wife on the side; etc...
I'm quite sure there's a gay/lesbian forum somewhere with the exact same stories (but I certainly don't have any interest finding it).
It would appear that stupidity and emotional immaturity are well dispersed.

DD, Actually, my comment was directed at guys playing with the emotions of wg´s.
I have one more question for you real experts, where is the instant death ray of Bangkok when you need it?
I saw several candidates for summary execution the other night, real he-men, who seemed to be unable to metabolize alcohol correctly.
These gits were making first class tits of themselves, and while I maintained the required smiling face, I was hoping for one of those "Thais beating the living crap out of offending farang" moments of legend and lore.
I would have helped.
I suppose the good news is, it was only 4 out of 400 or so.
After my previous comments about not falling in love, I have to admit, I have spent the last 14 hours in loving, close and intimate company of a sanitary fixture called "Karat" in my hotel room.
Finally, at 2:30 in the morning, the fever has broken, and sadly the magic has gone. I will still visit once or twice a day until I depart, but nothing will ever compare again with the joy "Karat" has brought me.
Now I really understand the lure of Thailand.
