I got a good look at the guy at McDonald's in front of Robinson's Soi 19 this morning
he was in the bathroom and I checked out his CV while he was in there, kinda weird
I only glanced really, but long enough to see that it really is scribbled and the characters are uneven and it's just plain horrible
Chef Radio Operator was the one thing I did make out, yes I'm sure he meant "Chief" but that's not how it was spelled
as I went to the bathroom he came out and looked normal, looked like he had a shave and shower and his clothes were not amiss or dirty
so I'm thinkin' either this guy is staying with friends or he can at least afford a hotel every night, sure doesn't look like he's sleeping in the streets, yet he carries his bags around with him.
I would think that if he could afford a hotel he would at least get the CV that's attached to his baggage done up at a print shop
maybe he's just taking up for a few hours at a time in the ST hotels and then back to the "old grind" of hustling his résumé on his trolley-bag

I´ve seen him and some other odd guys over the years. Most famous maybe is the "give me 1000 baht so I can fly home" dude..?!
Maybe they just found a perfect way of support!! I recall in my hometown there was for many many years a woman who played clarinet in the subway. She looked absolutely terrible. Dirty clothes, hair in a mess, pale skinny face and the performance wasn´t any good either.
A lot of empathy she got though and each time one passed she had a pile of coins collected in the instrument case. Poor woman..... or was it?!
One day a young reporter wanted to see where the "poor" woman slept at night and followed her as carefully as perhaps only TPE can! What he revealed was a bit of a surprise - to say the least!
After she stopped "playing" for the day, she stood up on shaky legs and with bent back walked away in her dreadful rags. That lasted for a few blocks. When well off her usual place, the back suddenly got stronger, she walked straight and determined to a place at the trainstation where she had a locker. There she took out a bag, went to the ladies and came out dressed up and looking all normal. Hair brushed down and face cleaned.
The stunned reporter continued to track the lady and she walked quickly to a sidestreet where..... her BMW was parked!! She drove off and was later located to a nice apartment complex outside the city. They checked further and found that she was a very wealthy lady!
They also calculated that she at that time made equivalent to 100 usd/day - but that was years ago so perhaps similar to 5-600 daily usd in todays value?!
Lets say these falang boys get the sympathy and "oh you poor poor man" - from various non-thinking tourists and each day collect a couple of 1000 baht?! Not impossible at all! And THEN who is the fool!! Let´s hire TPE and find out! Maybe we are in for a big surprise!
Never take the obvious for granted.....

Hmmm, might be worth a BTF collection - how much would TPE charge for a couple of days of surveillance, to shed light on this mistery?
Then again, careful, maybe our homeless farang is a member of this forum...
