Mr "N" - before getting to cowboy - or perhaps even better, the bars down soi 33, cross sukhumvit and a short way to you left, you will need to escape the TGs in the bar in front of the regency ... they will certainly try to drag you in ! - if your here for a while, worth getting a Skytrain card, 230 bt, you just add to it if/when needed, I'm sure a trip to MBK, or wanting to get to Nana or even Patpong in a hurry sometimes, or on a friday night around 5-10pm when the traffic is at a standstill will occur at some stage - and yep... not too many TGs go for the Skytrain, the stairs certainly scare them off !

Thanks for your advice TPE. 
I will be in BBK for 10 days. That Skytrain card sounds alright - is that for a full days use (unlimited travel on the train)?
