ABC -- Interesting, but:

Jets - Seem to be getting too old, esp. C.Martin. Without run support Pennington gets hurt again.
Cowboys - Hey, where's the challenge in picking a team that was already 10-6? We're talking turnarounds here!
Chargers - As I said, a possibility only if they get Brunell, certainly not if they go with Brees or Manning.

XPC -- This is the only thing about the Cowboys that interests me: http://www.dallascowboys.com/cheerleaders/squad.cfm

ABC:

Sorry, I disagree about Carter.

You say he won't win any games with his arm or legs but has enough sense not to lose them. Trying NOT to lose is sometimes harder than trying to win.

I really question his leadership abilities and his heart. He hasn't shown me he has either to any great extent.

I'm sure you are right about the wr and rb positions but the quarterback is the one that drives the bus. Look at most of the Super Bowl winners since the beginning. The quarterbacks haven't always been pretty but they have had the confidence of the offense that they can somehow win. I just don't get that warm fuzzy feeling with Carter back there.

Ron:

They interest me too. I just fell in lust with a few farang types.

Nice link!! Might just change my birth date to April now!! ha ha ha ha ha!!

As for the Chargers, if they draft Manning or trade for Brunell they still don't have any defense. And, I'm not sure how many games David "I'm always hurt" Boston will play. LT can only take them so far on his own.

Though it looks like they might try to move down in the draft to stock pile picks to draft that position.

I'll agree with about Q.Carters leadership abilities, but I'm not sure how much he's gonna need with Parcells running the ship. If another coach was there, then I would thnk that the QB would need to be the leader and rock solid. I'm talking about his mental state and not what's in his pants!! ha ha ha ha!!

P.Simms was a leader, but was J.Hostetler when he led them to the Superbowl?? I'm not sure.

I don' think many teams are blessed with a P.Manning type qb these days.

We will see in the draft and free agency though. Since San Diego, Miami and Dallas have joined Washington in discussing a trade with the Jaguars for Brunell. So, then you will get your vetran leader. ha ha ha!!

To wet the appetite for the football die-hards.

A mock draft. ENJOY. I'm sure this is going to change as the draft looms closer.

SPORTING NEWS MOCK NFL DRAFT
No. Team Player (Pos./School) Analysis

1. Chargers Eli Manning (QB, Mississippi) Not as cerebral as Peyton but a better athlete. Pick could be dealt.

2. Raiders Larry Fitzgerald (WR, Pittsburgh) Size, speed and playmaking skills make him top overall talent.

3. Cardinals Ben Roethlisberger (QB, Miami-Ohio) A future star who may have higher upside than Eli Manning.

4. Giants Robert Gallery (OT, Iowa) Most complete college lineman in '03. Can start right away.

5. Redskins Tommie Harris (DT, Oklahoma) Interior line is a big need, and Harris has big-play potential.

6. Lions Kellen Winslow (TE, Miami-Fla.) Lacks maturity but is downfield threat with high upside.

7. Falcons Shawn Andrews (OT, Arkansas) Massive and can dominate, but there are character issues.

8. Browns Sean Taylor (S, Miami-Fla.) As highly regarded as Dallas' Roy Williams was in 2002 draft.

9. Jaguars Roy Williams (WR, Texas) Has size, speed, good hands and run-after-catch skills.

10. Texans Vince Wilfork (DT, Miami-Fla.) Massive two-gap player who is quick enough to play end in 3-4.
11. Steelers Kevin Jones (RB, Virginia Tech) Great speed, big-play potential, but can he hack it as a receiver?

12. Jets Jonathan Vilma (ILB, Miami-Fla.), Would help extremely slow unit. Disruptive force inside.

13. Bills Kenechi Udeze (DE, Southern California) Best pass rusher available; stock could soar after workouts.

14. Bears Steven Jackson (RB, Oregon State) Lacks Jones' speed but has better size and receiving ability.

15. Buccaneers Reggie Williams (WR, Washington) Questions about speed but looks fast on film. Can be No. 1 wideout.

16. 49ers Will Smith (DE, Ohio State) May not be an explosive pass rusher, but he's sound in all facets.

17. Bengals Randy Starks (DT, Maryland) Ideal burst, size and power. Played mostly in 3-4 in college.

18. Saints DeAngelo Hall (CB, Virginia Tech) Perhaps fastest player in draft; has potential to be shutdown corner.

19. Vikings Chris Gamble (CB, Ohio State) Needs refinement, but he's a playmaker with size and fluidity.

20. Dolphins Philip Rivers (QB, N.C. State) Has great mind for the game; needs time to develop.

21. Patriots (from Ravens) D.J. Williams (OLB, Miami-Fla.), A bit undersized, but he's a playmaker who could start as a rookie.

22. Cowboys Chris Perry (RB, Michigan) A hard runner who has good hands and solid blocking skills.

23. Seahawks Karlos Dansby (OLB, Auburn) Active against the run and has ideal pass-rushing speed.

24. Broncos Dunta Robinson (CB, South Carolina) Physical player who can jam receivers. Improving in coverage.

25. Packers J.P. Losman (QB, Tulane).500 (128-128)

26. Rams Ben Troupe (TE, Florida) Threat down the middle; isn't far behind Winslow as a receiver.

27. Titans Vernon Carey (G, Miami-Fla.) Top interior offensive-line prospect. Also could play right tackle.

28. Eagles Michael Clayton (WR, LSU) This playmaker is tough, as a blocker and going over the middle.

29. Colts Derrick Strait (CB, Oklahoma) Must improve technique in man-to-man but has the physical skills.

30. Chiefs Will Poole (CB, Southern California) Has great speed and gets to the ball; could start as a rookie.

31. Panthers Lee Evans (WR, Wisconsin) Questions about durability but none about hands, burst off line.

32. Patriots Jake Grove (C, Virginia Tech) Lacks ideal size and athleticism but is technically sound and tough.
