And for defense, I think, but don't have any data at this moment to support this, anyways, Batlimores defense during their superbowl run set the NFL's single season fewest points allowed. BUt, you can not argue with Buddy Ryans swarming, blitzing defense as one of the best. Since they changed the ways defense is played.

These polls are biased towards the more recent teams. The 85 Bears were a great team, but the 62 Packers also had a stifling defense, and a more balanced offense. The Bears could run with Payton, but the Packers had Taylor and Horning, and Bart Starr is an advantage over Jim McMahon.

With the so much larger, faster and stronger players of today, don't you think it is possible none of those old teams could play with the big boys now?
