I leave the explanation to ExpatChuck - he was chasing the truth of my name in Cyberspace for months.
All I can say is that it originated in a goodmooded banter between the Thin White Duke's Lunatic Fringe and the legendary "Kill The Whales" brotherhood from the fringes of the Arctic Ice waters, on the Z - Forum.
Not sure ExpatChuck has figured it all out yet, though.

I did not know the TWD name had anything to do with "white supremacy, facism, etc." until like a year or two when some brother, ( who, as usual, is long gone) tried to bait me with something or other, when the legendary Forum wars were raging.
But the Lunatic Fringe was the knickname of a low budget, long running alternative "underground" newspaper from the fifties and sixties.
Just last week saw a guy on TV displaying numerous editions of the paper, which featured Beat poets, interviews with underground luminaries and the like, who was on this "Antiques Roadshow". While I don't recall actually taking credit for the phrase, I could never remember exactly where it came from either.
As anyone who has hung around for more than a while will attest to, I have slammed all manner of cultural differences, for little or no reason. I have boinked numerous colors and flavors on the international stage of mongering, and live in a multi-racial, cultural, household.
This happy poster remains proud of the legacy of silliness spawned throughout the threads, and the undying support of the minions who've assisted the Lunatic Fringe to reache the pinnacle of audacious nonesence it reached. A special thank you to Ex-pat Chuck, who's comic timing and gin and tonic soaked wry wit helped to propel the LF to the ashheap of history.
I only look tremendously to the day I finally meet Kryptonite at the gates of hell where I'll pummell him with heaps of sarcasm and physically beat the daylights out of him for deleting 26 pages of Lunatic Fringe Thread. Can a dead guy in hell have daylights? The saga continues and I gotta go get a oil change. Will I get a free tire rotation thrown in? oh the questions.
