The admission of boredom is usually the direct result of lack of creativity in the bedroom or by accepting woman below your expectations and the only solutions is obtain new targets to use same old routine on in an attempt to awaken your senses up again.

What I got bored of is the 99% of the towel-clad ceiling starers just hoping for a quick finish so they can rejoin their friends for som-tum and card playing. It is a very small percentage of TG’s that actually crave and enjoy sex rather than view it as a necessary household chore right up their with washing clothes and ironing and only perform to insure that the baht keeps flowing and another does not win your affection.

Happy hunting for the 1% that don’t fit the norm.

Well, my TGF recently finished the interview at the embassy in BKK and now has a finacee visa pasted in her passport. She said the interview went very quickly, just a couple of questions about how long we were together and about my new job. She had read and memorized the 3 page cover letter I'd put together for the package, as well as the offer letter from my new employer, so after those perfunctionary questions, she was asked to come back in 2 days and pick up her visa and customs package. She said the woman who interviewed her at the embassy was very polite and congenial. A radical change from our experience there when we tried to get a tourist visa in 2005.

Current plan is for her to be here in late February. I have taken a job in "an undisclosed location in California," as their ain't shit for work in NM, so she will join me there in February. Right now she's in the process of helping her employer find and train her replacement. After that, she'll head upcountry in January to spend a month with her son, hopefully pushing him a bit on his school homework and such. And, of course, she's also shutting down her relationships with her various gik's, or at least giving them valid forwarding addresses, lol.

So looks like late February will see another Thai lady in Amerika. Her chief concerns are about the food and certainly about the language. But she'll find her English is very passable (she does most of the Engilsh translation at the restaurant where she works in BKK). Moreover, we'll be living in a resort-style community, so she'll find it feels much like a village, with easy access to shuttle buses and plenty of opportunities to enjoy a warm cappuccino in the morning with a new gik, while her husband is out bringing home the bacon.

CalEden,

Total time from submission of docs Stateside to interview was about 7.5 months. The wait for the interview in BKK was only about 4 weeks, as the backlog suddenly disappeared there.

Atl, I'll PM you when she gets Stateside if I need some help on change of status. Do you know how long after the marriage is recoded Stateside that she is allowed to work here?

Balls as soon as she enters the US she can apply/receive social security number/card and start working immediately. My wife got her SS # within 2 weeks of entering. The fiancée Visa is a hybrid visa that transitions into Green card.

I'm thinking there is some bad information being posted here. Your number one source for this information should be http://www.visajourney.com. I'm almost positive a K-1 Fiance Visa does NOT allow you to work in the U.S. Yes, we have all been down this road before but almost 2 years for me since my fiance arrived and I think as long for ATL and Cal. You can get a work authorization stamp when you enter the country but I think only at JFK. It is not automatic and not at every P.O.E. (point of entry). Work authorization is not a given with a K-1 fiance visa. Go to Visajourney and click on forums and then K-1 Fiance Visa then look for a thread called Sawasdee 2 (lots of info here for Farang/Thai couples)
I'm looking at my wife's very first Social Security Number and it states on the card:

Valid for work only with DHS (Dept of Homeland Security) Authorization.

Your K-1 Fiance Visa does not give you that approval. That allows her to come to Amerika and get married within 90 days. Once here she cannot leave legally until she is married and has the Green Card. If she leaves it will not be easy for her to return as the K-1 is a one time entry. Most do not even apply for a S.S.N. until you are married and then get the card in her new married name. It can be a bitch to do a name change with S.S.N. We used my wife's maiden name as her new middle name and made sure the Green Card had all three names in full as her Thai Passport will still have her maiden name. When she travels to Thailand again she will need her passport and then her Green Card will get her back into the U.S.A.

Because ATL does not believe me I post the following from http://www.state.gov!

Can a K-1 Visa Holder Work in the United States?

As a K-1 visa holder you may file Form I-765 Application for Employment Authorization with the USCIS office that serves the area where you live for a work permit (employment authorization document).

So, ATL without filing form I-765 for employment Authorization you can not work "legally" with just a K-1 Fiance Visa and a S.S.N.

More information (faqs) can be found at:

Not that this discussion really relates to me in any fashion, but I had some time to kill and took a quick look at the K-1 visa/ right to work thingy this morning.

And it seems clear at this time that one should obtain an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) if they want to work with just the K-1.
