Had a run with 2 thonglor plain clothes Jaba cops tonight.
It was not really farang oriantated,i was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
My mother-in-law lives in a condo on soi 16 and I went over there on the MRT.
Went up in the elevator as usual and there were 2 guys
loitering by the stairs. As I knocked on the door of my mother-in -laws they approached me and asked me something in thai,at the same time showing badges that were hung on their necks like american cops.
I said I dont speak thai and opened the door. They blocked me going inside but I was lucky they could not plant anything on me because the whole family was now involved as witnesses and I stayed at distance.
Apparantly the floor my in-laws stay has Yaba dealers,
they thought I was a falang coming to buy Yaba.
Once it was sorted out that I was coming to see my wife,
i went inside and they left.
These guys plant drugs though.
They had come in a jeep and took 2 thai to the cop shop.I just came at the wrong moment and they had never seen me before.
Family think it because I have tattoos, as its certainly not because of my long hair.
I thought they were dept collectors and was not too bothered as I was not doing anything wrong.
But certainly not the type of guys you want to be f***ing around with

Today I drunk a bottle of Jack daniels with my brother-in -law
in soi 16 sukomvit. After my wife was finished with her business we took off back to the hotel in soi 4 around 12.30.
Going on Ratchadaphisek in the direction of Asoke, just before Sukomvit the taxi was pulled over by police.
For the record I was with my wife, my son and brother-in -law.
I was summoned to get out, and my wife also got out.
They asked for my passport, I gave a copy which they started to argue about with my wife.
He then put his hand in my front left trouser pocket,
i had 7 k in there but my wife was a witness.
After he started to get angry and put his hand in my right hand front pocket, I told him I only had money which he pulled out, and gave back to me, lucky me f***ING ARSEHOLES.
Basically I could not give a shit but I have a feeling if my wife was not with me speaking thai things could have got nasty.
These ARSEWHOLES seem to be regularly at this intersection and they are not Thonglor police but Lupini so take care.

Last two weekends they have been on Soi 31 late at night early morning stopping and searching all Farang in Taxis. Pulled me over again, must be my 4th or 5th time now.
Were perfectly polite but still pisses me off as this happens right in front of my Condo and short of staying out all night I can't avoid them. They were there on Friday and I was on foot with a couple of shopping bags and all I got this time was a polite "Sawadee Kap"

I believe you, I just dont like cops period.
This sort of thing is also very bad for tourism.
But I suppose we only have other Farang to blame for this.
Its obvious what they are looking for.

It happened to me too back in June. A friend (TG) and I were en route back to my hotel in Soi 23 after a long night partying with her friends in Thong Lor and at some crazy techno club way out in the burbs when we got pulled over just around the corner from my place. I managed to slip my wad of 1000s into my shoe before they could get to the window of the taxi and get me out. We were both shitfaced, but my companion kept her mouth shut.
The MIB reckoned they were searching me for guns & drugs (how bout checking the damn taxi driver) and I was frisked gently while the contents of my pockets examined - small notes, phone, hotel entry key, all of which was dutifully returned. I thought about being a real smartarse and trying to tip the bastards but (thankfully) my common sense got the better of me.
