I had a beer in one hand, a slice of pizza in the other, I was getting a blow job, and MNF was on TV, Rams -v- Cowboys. Bastards stopped the game for a bit though as someone in the stand threatened to shoot Tom Landry.

Now you assholes have stepped over the line. ÝI let you get away with comparing a ladies game (soccer) to NFL football but when you start on the COWBOYS you get my heart racing. ÝI was a fan when Eddie LeBaron was the quarterback, if that tells you how long I have been a supporter. ÝAll of you "johnny-come-latelys", as usual, know little of which you speak. Ý
As far as rugby is concerned, it is a rough and tumble sport. ÝI watch many games and have tons of admiration for those that play the game. ÝHaving said that, I tried to play the game many years ago and was kicked off the team here in Saudi. ÝI tried to tackle like we do in American football and was told it was too rough. ÝA close comparison will find the tackling is different and the foot speed of the game is different. ÝAmerican football has much the faster players.
As for soccer....pshaw, I say. ÝWhen they stop rolling around on the ground after tripping over their own shoelaces, I will respect it as a sport. ÝBaseball is a much rougher sport than soccer. ÝAnd why do they take their f_cking shirts off when they manage to make a goal??

but hey Bill has taken them over .500 for the first time since 1999...hahahahaha
As for rugby...the tackling was too rough...nonsense....it was just you must use your arms...as for faster players.....stats?.....two of the current All Blacks side are incredibly fast, Rugby has also converted track athletes into International players as has the NFL (Nehemiah, Ron Brown, Willie Gault). Now rugby is a professional sport players are bulking up fast....too rough...insulting, the same way that anyone from rugby would insult the NFL for wearing helmets. Two tough but different games.
Soccer players....Chuck...we agree...I enjoy the game but the nancy boy ballerinas annoy me...cheats!!

Rugby is a rougher game, so says the American Insurance Companies. We tried to institute a rugby league in the spring at my son's HS a few years ago to help keep the football players in condition until the fall.
The schools insurance carrier rejected coverage as there are no pads in rugby and it is too rough. Funny enough, fewer people get hurt in rugby than American football. This is because when you hit a guy it hurts (I know from experience), hence you will not hit hard enough to really hurt a person bad. Of course eye gouging and groin kneeing once you are in a ruck is OK as long as the offical doesn't spot you.
Expat, a Cowboy fan??? Maybe you should go back to playing with partridiges.. Go Texans!!!
