ABC,

Denver made a move to upgrade their defense. They probably think their O-line is so good, any ball carrier can do a decent job. Who knows?

Josh Bidwell signed as a free agent with Tampa Bay. I've made a lot of trips to LOS to improve my skills. Think I have any chance of becoming the Packers new Punter?

Good one. ha ha ha!!

Denver did upgrade their defense, but I'm not sure the signing of champ for portis was a smart move. But, we'll see this season.

Philly started to worry me until I saw the secondary. They lost a couple good ones. Always liked Vincent, since he a U of Wi. All-American, on a team that won 4 games in 3 years (pre-Alverez).

10 Biggest Offseason Developments
BY: Brandon Funston

1. Clinton Portis: Denver trades running back Portis to Washington

Quotable -- Joe Gibbs, Washington head coach: "We're all big fans of production. Clinton's first year in the NFL, he gained 1,508 yards. The second year, he had 1,591. His 31 touchdowns and stats speak for themselves. We hope that continues as we move ahead to next year."

2. Terrell Owens: Three-way deal sends Owens from San Francisco to Philly via Baltimore

Quotable -- Owens: "When I played with D-Mac (McNabb) at the Pro Bowl we fit in real nice. I got to know their coaching staff the last few Pro Bowls. I'm comfortable in the West Coast offense and Donovan reminds me of Steve Young. He likes to scramble and look downfield for his receiver. That's the kind of style that fits me best. I think I was more lobbying Donovan for them to get me than they were going after me."

3. Jeff Garcia: 49ers release Garcia, who signs with Cleveland

Quotable -- Butch Davis, Cleveland head coach: "The way he plays the game, the passion, the athleticism, the way he drove teams, his charisma. As you did a background study on him and you looked at all the successes he's had, there is a common thread through every level of football: He's a winner."

4. David Boston heads to Miami

Quotable -- Harvey Greene, Dolphins spokesman: ''David Boston passed his physical, and that's all we're going to say about it.''

Quotable -- A.J. Smith, Chargers General Manager: "There are a number of reasons David Boston is not with us. Medical is not one of them."

Quotable -- Dave Wannstedt, Dolphins head coach: "I don't know if it changes the personality [of the offense]. We've always tried to be as balanced as we could."

5. San Francisco releases Garrison Hearst, re-signs Kevan Barlow

Quotable -- Dennis Erickson, 49ers head coach: ''I would like to establish a running back, to be very honest with you.''

Quotable -- Pat Dye Jr., Hearst's agent: "I think Garrison had a good, long meeting with coach (Mike) Shanahan, and they discussed the opportunities and successes that other running backs have had in their system. And they may have indicated to him that, if he came there, it would take pressure off drafting (a running back) early. Not to say they still won't do it, but this takes some pressure off them."

Other Notables
6. Charlie Garner reunites in Tampa Bay with former coach Jon Gruden
7. Duce Staley signs with Pittsburgh
8. Thomas Jones signs with Chicago
9. Mark Brunell to Washington
10. Justin McCareins to NY Jets

I think Phili's secondary is scary to the tune they don't have one.

T.O's acquasitiion was a good one for the offense. And the Jevon "the freak" Keasy will help with defensive line.

But, they lost Vincent to the Bills and Taylor to the Seahawks without replacing either of them via free agency.

I know #20 is good, but he's can't cover all the wr's.
* #20 Brian Dawkins

I think Phili will have a hard time repeating at division champs since Washington and Dallas have reloaded their rosters. Only the Giants have really not done much of anything.

Might just be what Andy Reid is evaluating, i.e. a 10-man blitz every down.

Sorry to see Washington and Dallas improved, Green Bay now has a much more formidable schedule. Bears and Lions quietly making moves, may not be patsy's either. Seems the only thing I can count on in the Central is for the Vikes to choke down the stretch.

WTF? 11 pages behind "Supporting your team...", and they had a later start. I know it's off-season, but let's get with it.

And we don't stuff the thread with cut and paste.

Hell, why watch a game like Am. football that takes 2+ hours to play for only 15 minutes of actual action?
