speaking of that, did you read about clarretts 40 time. he running them around 4.5ish range. That's impressive since Steven Jackson (Oregon State), Kevin Jones (Virginia Tech), Chris Perry (Michigan) and Greg Jones (Florida State) ran then in the 4.6 range and those guys are projected to be taken ahead of Clarretts who's slatted to go in the 3rd or 4th round.
Do you think San Diego will trade out of the #1 spot or take Manning with the pick?
Looks like Gallery the left tackle from Iowa is moving way up the charts while Mike Williams from 'SC is moving down.
I'm not sure european football or american soccer has any more or less action then the NFL does.
I will agree that there are too many commercials in the NFL, but that's what the "dish" is for. Commercial free sports!! ha ha ha!!

American Football is a great sport, no criticism from me, would watch it over soccer any day.
But in comparison it is still a minority sport.

Well almost. Baseball is good when the world series is on.
In actual fact the Buffalo Bills were my team back in the days when they went 0 for 4 in the Superbowl.
In fact, once had a great conversation with the Coach, Marv Levy, at a local shopping mall in Buffalo. He was just having some lunch at the mall, doing some shopping. Amazing.
People were passing by and saying "Hey Marv, have a good game on Sunday", or "Good seeing you Marv".
Only reason he let me talk was that I introduced myself as a Canadian, so he wanted to talk Canadian football for a while. I was a big Toronto Argos fan, also at that time.
Great guy. Used to coach in Montreal.
Nothing against Am. football but can't really dedicate that kind of time to it, and the damn commercials make it unbearable.
Hey if you really want to watch paint dry, try Chinese football.

ABC: San Diego has been burned on Ryan Leaf and its ironic that they could get Eli Manning now. However, they did draft Drew Brees and so what will they do with him? I think they should take Manning because he is pretty close to a sure thing but SD's front office is in shambles and IMHO with Marty in charge, they aren't going to go anywhere. LaDanian is a stud but thats about it, they have managed to lose all their other talent (Rodney Harrison, Jr Seau, David Boston, etc). Also, add in the fact that SD is always the topic of becoming the LA Chargers and its hard for them to keep thier focus.
Clarrett had a stellar workout but its also how fast you run with pads on, some guys run a 4.3 but with pads a 4.5 while others run a 4.5 but with pads on, still a 4.5 Also, Clarrett is young and lacking in experience and is controversial so teams may not want to make a big splash with him. Having said that, some trigger happy owner (i.e - Snyder) may pull early and blow his wad.
This should be an interesting draft, I know I am pretty pumped up to see who the Patriots pick, they have two 1st rounds and two 2nd rounders so that is a lot of room for manuevering! Hopefully a stud RB or a CB and a safety to be groomed by Rodney Harrison!

I agree about San Diego being in shambles. But, this is why I think they will either take Manning or trade the pick. As you said, Manning is as close to a sure thing in this draft as you can get. They know that Bree's in the the qb of the future for them, and they already made the mistake of passing on Vick.
Clarrett will go in the 1st round. Look where McGahee went and he had a completely blown out knee. I agree that some owner will shoot his wade on him. I'm thinking it's going to be the "Mad Martz" Rams who do it. I sure hope not!! ha ha ha!!
There is a rumor floating around that the Pittsburg is interested in Bulger and might send either two picks (1st and 2nd this year, or 2nd and 1st next year to get him) as well as possibly trading Plaxico.
The Pat's had better resign and make Ty Law happy. He's important to their defensive scheme, but then again, Belichick has proven he can win with anyone. And with all those picks they can certainily be a dynasty.
Since it's a copy cat league look what Denver went out and did to get Chump, I mean Champ Bailey. I hope tears is up to 1,700 yards and 20 td's to show Shanahan his ego cost him a great rb.
