Have they dirtied that place back up yet? It used to be an interesting place before they cleaned it up. Kind of freaked me out, first time, to be honest. All those ladyboys running around and Australian sailors guzzling yards of ale, then spewing (their words) all over the street before ordering another. It was the wild west but, of course, it was in the east.
A co-worker of mine went there on some kind of training course, and went out drinking with some Middle Eastern guy in the same class. When the Arab was accosted by the ladyboy, he was crass enough to drag her off to some unlit doorway and inspect her penis with a lighter.
Singapore never should have changed Bugis Street.
