The line between homophobia and utter machoism is a very fine line here, a very gine line indeed.

Yes. If you want to be more specific, you could actually say it is about some non-native speakers correcting native speakers about verb conjugations and about some other non-native speakers keeping with their habit of posting perpetually proving the jerks they are
Believe you me, it happens quite often for some non-native speakers to correct native speakers. Madeleine Albright and Henry Kissinger, both non-native English, are a couple of examples who have done it all their lives for instance.
