Quote: from ColoradoGuy on 8:26 pm on Dec. 13, 2005 Quote: For three years, I have been consulting the schedule link I posted, and it has been correct 100% of the time, for what I remember.
My impression, too, was that UBC did indeed air the ESPN feed direct, but I have myself encountered instances of replaced programming over the years (or at least programming different from that appearing in the posted schedules for ESPN). What motivates that I have no idea. Last week there were no college bowl games at all in the UBC schedules for Thailand that were posted on their web site. Not on ESPN and not on any other sports channel. Regardless, I hope it turns out that you're right here.

I have always looked at the program schedule from the link I previously posted, and I have found it to be an accurate listing of what I will see on ESPN in Thailand. It is updated, though, so best check it a day or two before. For example, they now list the teams correct! "GAME ROSE BOWL PASADENA, CA USA Texas Vs Usc (L) " Perhaps I'll organize a "Nat'l Championship Watching RT". Would anyone really come at 8:00am on a Thurs AM?

Personally I would like to see the replay of the first 'American / Aus game. I believe the first half was played in American football rules ( Grid-iron) and second half played in Australian rugby league rules. After the THRASHING one of the American team members was quoted as saying " Those crazey OZZZZstraaaalians are mad barrrrstarrrrrrds, no way can we playyyyy that harrrrrrd without helmets, body protection etc etc" But I must admit I always tune in for the super bowl. cheers

Mel I believe you are talking shit.....actually, no, I know you are talking shit. Such a game never happened.....you may be confusing it with the Gaelic fotball / Aussie rules games, where for years the Irish dominated, but recently the Aussies got the upper hand, but certainly an amalgimation between the NFL and the AFL has NEVER happened....so dream on......

Yurune,, First let get a few facts straight. It was not an "amalgamation of rules" such as the Gaelic and AFL type games you talk about. It was First half of the game full Gridiron rules, second half full rugby league rules. If my memory is correct the Americans went in at half time some 50 plus points in front.,only to loose. Secondly I do not know where you got the NFL AFL amalgamation from AFL is Australian rules football ( commonly called "airial ping pong here in Sydney"). I was talking NFL and rugby league. It definately happened,, I believe it was some time in the mid 70's and was possibly played at the field in Cronulla ( now called Shark park). Getting facts or evidence for something that occured in the 70's ( pre net) is almost impossible. Would I be willing to search several hundred copies of old newspapers,,,NAH got better things to do with my time ( arrive in BKK tomorrow night). Either way,,,,, Cheers. P.S My dreams since turning 15 have usually not been about sport,, well have been more about horizontal Lambarda dancing rather than NRL AFL cricket etc.

Mel..... I admit to mis reading your post as to it being rugby league, as for it being in the 70's, unprovable either way. As for strapping padding on RL players and throwing them into a gridiron game, they'd get mashed. Completely different games, like comparing apples and oranges.
