The family are easy - you train her to appease them care for them -
They have long given up on me-
Advantages are (in my case) accountability and honesty-
She keeps records _ and the incomes-
Nothing lost nothing gained for me-
She is obedient and compliant but also fierce in keeping me from myself -
She only tolerates beer not spirits-
keeps me healthier-
Cares-
Never says she loves me, and all that shit but, makes sure if I have a fever she never leaves my side-
She knows how to farm and make money from land and livestock -
She makes her family respect what is given-
They tend to have deep spiritual beliefs- simple things-
Its a simple life-
Not for everyone - but I enjoy our motor bike rides to the lakes and mountains and peace -
The other stuff is for the flesh-
You can still do that-
but this stuff is for the soul and heart-
There was nothing so exilerating to share the joys of rains when they were prayed for and came-

... when they offer to us, "I take care you," that's like a big deal for them... we are supposed to be deeply touched by this ultimate Thai gesture of giving.
... they hear of things we do out of simple decency for the less fortunate, and they say, "Ah, you have good heart"... that rates big in their books.
... I don't know Blonk... I think there are huge gaps between farang and Thais that make life together challenging... that gap is about language, religion, lifestyle, etc., but I think it is overwhelmingly about differences in cultural values.
... I also believe that love is not enough... I haven't married every woman I loved... have you?

Well, what's the point of all that money if it's no fun living there? I did the same, though I wasn't getting that much, still it was a drop of 80% of my income, but no regrets living here.

5000 baht bill- if I read correctly you left after leaving 2200 bht on table. THAT LEAVES 2800 UNPAID FOR-what happened regarding unpaid balance-from my understanding this just does not happen wo dire consequences.
also you should have given your thai FRIENDS notice that you will no longer be their atm be4 you stopped. if you always paid for them is unfair to just stop cold turkey.
