Anyone read already Pattaya 24/7 from Christopher G. Moore?
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/9749206665/qid=1116234794/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-0612351-5079320?v=glance&s=books

I would like to order it from one of the book stores (used or new), but shipping costs are outrageous if you're not living in UK or the US.

Just read "Cut Out" (German title: Stunde Null in Phnom Penh) from Christopher G. Moore. The Novel is mostly set in Cambodia but with some characters from Thailand.
It was first published 1994 but it is still up to date. After being in Thailand reading about Thailand comes second.
The background story of the Thai-Saudi Jewel theft which actually happend in 1990 (apparently the case is still unsolved) was very interesting.

CG is best for atmosphere of thai. but his plots are variable. some great and some really quite poor. Bangkok 8 was the best I have read. decent plot, a page turner and good thai atmospherics.

ericdespim,

Thanks, I would like to here views on plot/story,characterisation, atmosphere,page-turner etc.

I have only read 'A Woman of Bangkok' by Jack Reynolds. 'Private Dancer' and 'Solitary Man' by Stephen Leather. 'Big Mango' by Jake Needham. 'Four Seasons' by ? and a paperback by Paul Andrax? (a Thai).

I liked the Jack Reynolds and Stephen Leather.
Jake Needham and Paul Andrax were OK pulp fiction books that you might buy at an airport. 'Four Seasons' I found almost unreadable.

I have not read CG Moore or Dean Barrett.

Does anybody know how Moore and Needham handle plots and characterisation ?
