Actually...the best selection I've ever seen of older movies is La Lular in IT Mall.
Having said that, they'll only do what will sell (Bridge Over The River Kwai) and the movies you mention I've never seen. Even movies like Citizen Kane are not available....not much chance I'd say JR.

check Amazon for a listing of releases...
you can also check the titles you are looking for on the Internet Movie DataBase, and there's a DVD section on each film. If it's grayed out then of course it's not available, otherwise you can click on DVD details for more info.
My local seller told me to bring him a list of what I want. If it's released, they can most likely get hold of it, but you'd have to give some of their discs a test drive first...or... Maybe try the shops that Yurune mentions and give them a nice long list (and leave it with them for a day or two). The more they can find, the more they can sell. 
If you've got a two page list, give page 1 to shop1, and page 2 to shop2, once they've found what they can, switch the lists/shops and see if they can dig deeper.
This would of course work better the farther apart the shops are and of course preferably not in the same shopping center. A lot of times they use the same source/s if in the same building

Thank you one and all for being patient with me.
Went to Mangpong and CD Wherehouse today. Loads of original DVD's BT 99 - 799.
So now that I know about ripping macrovision and such, is it possible, when loading these pirate copies, to get a virus in your computer - same as other software?
Does anybody know that most of the big films get released in Asia before US? (I am referring to original copies)

Anyone know actually how these discs are copied?? assuming they are pirated from originals? Where do they get the blank DVD9 discs from to burn to in the first place???
Most of the DVDs Ive brought there are a gold/silver finish. Most consumer brought DVDs i.e +/-r/rw are a dye based phase change layer not metallic.....
As far as I know you can only buy blank DVD+/- r -rw discs in DVD5 4.7ish GB with the DVD9 not available (yet....)
If they are just pirated using soemthing like DVDXcopy how the hell are they getting DVD9 discs? Or this more of an inside job???
Even the one's I've brought last week (I ROBOT, Alien V Predator etc) are DVD9 with - the actual name of the film printed on the spindle between the plastic - not just printed on the top via a printer....how are they doing this are we talking serious kit to burn the name on the substrate (metallic/dye) layer???

You seem to labor under the mistaken assumption that these disks are made by some guys in backrooms with burners. Try Malaysian piracy conglomerates, that own their own *SHIPS* not boats, anchored outside the jurisdictional waters of the countries they are in, and manufacturing hundreds of thousands of these disks, and distributing them across asia - and having the latest duplication equipment - so they are making them just like the 'big guys'.

yes HE does.
RCE is to stop folks from playing region 1 discs in multi-region (region-free) players.
Those players normally have region set to 0 which RCE discs won't play in...
you guys really underestimate me ! !

One government official was reported in the newspapers as saying that the people could do what they liked in the privacy of their own home. However, the police put their foot down and threatened to prosecute not only the people that were selling the pirate CD, but also anyone that owned copies at home.
