Mr Alan
This is another Subway and BTS map, although the names of some of the stations may differ from the commonly known names.

Wow, that map is really old.

Bon Kai is now Klong Toey and Sirikit Centre is now Quen Sirikit National Convention Centre Station.

The red line is the BERTS or Hopewell or hopeless system which are the rusting pillars outside the Airport etc. Long since dead.

The branch of Hopewell shown running East West from Phaya Thai may be dead but the SRT are now tendering the Suvaranbhumi Airport Rail Link and City Air Terminal Project.

This will run along the same route from Phayathai and continues 28km out to the basement of the new Airport. At a budget cost of Bt26bn it is currently the largest above ground elevated railway construction project in Bangkok. For those who really want to know it is not running on the Hopewell columns but alongside as litigation continues on the Hopewell fiasco.

It also incorporates a City Air terminal where you can check-in in Makkasan and baggage is loaded on to the train.

But not as old as Mr. Alan's info. I am sure he will be waiting suitcase in hand for the Hopewell train to take him downtown.

Mr. Alan...There is still time for a name change to Mr. Bean.

The Reed U map remains useful because it enables you to cross reference with streets... most of the station names are unchanged in their current incarnation. Bangkok badly needs a good streetmap that is CURRENT and shows both the mass transit systems.

How 'bout it BK? The Bangkok Tonight map... no wats or museums, just MPs + ST hotels.

NM. That's possibly true, but it's good to know that you can still walk from the Huai Khwang station, even though it's slightly further, plus you have options of going to the other places, if you decide not to walk.

For those who like some walk (5-10 minutes), the Petchaburi station offers 3-4 massage parlors within walking distance. Mona Lisa, Plaza Entertainment, Harlem and Atami.
