Why I "never"* get hangovers: ŬI don't let myself drink too much. ŬKnow your limits and stay within them. ŬExcepting very special occasions. Bandit, was wondering why you'd not responded to some of the beer questions here. ŬAlso, they serve lime with the beer at my favorite local Mexican eatery. ŬThis is not a "gringo" place, almost all of the patrons are Mexican immigrants (heck, I'm technically semi-Mexican, in a paternal antecedent sort of way). ŬAnd I'm usually ordering a Negro Modelo if I get a beer there. ŬStill it comes with the lime. ŬI wonder if they've just adapted the local custom or if this custom has now filtered south of the border and then back north again? *Hardly ever, anyway

Hangover prevention? I don't have too many business meetings that don't end in an evening of drinking so I've had to learn the hard way. But, what works for me is drink lots of water, as already mentioned. Take a couple of aspirin just before crashing and burning and set the alarm clock for a couple of hours before you need to wake up and when it goes off, drain the vein, drink another tall glass of water and then go back to sleep. Chances are that you will feel like shit when you first wake up but then feel fine the second time. Your mileage/headaches may vary. ;) Ichi

Thanks for the hangover suggestions. I use the asprin thing already. I am not a big water drinker, but I will definetly try this. My main problem is the upset stomache and the shits the next day. Any suggestions on these symptoms?

The German draught beer sold in Thailand in 5 liter mini kegs is Warsteiner and it is quite good. Just bear in mind that you can't buy draft beer (by definition, unpasteurized and no formalin added either) and expect it to keep. Drink it quick.

I have been thinking about brewing my own here in LOS. I know it is illegal to sell home brew, but it is perfectly legal to brew and drink your own. I had my Thai friend check on this. I was wondering if I would be able to find the right ingrediants to make the beer once the ones in the kit run out? They don't give you very much. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you know kwass ? This is a slavic light fermented drink, quite beer-like and it is quite easy to make, with no ingredient difficult to find in LOS. It is very refreshing in the heat. I tried it once several years ago with good results. recipes available at http://www.kombu.de/kwass.htm

Thanks FIB, I printed the recipes out. Does this stuff have any alcohol content to it? Just wondering, cause if it don't I probably wont make it. I like to catch a buzz, call me crazy.

It is very light, maybe 3 to 4 % alcohol.

There's an order I don't mind following. 5 litres a day should be no problem, but might have to follow the hangover cure suggestions then.
