Actually, I was thinking about your enjoyment...farangs hitting other farangs would most certainly instil further motivation and encouragement on the Thai authorities to crack down on the farang frequented p4p spots. Especially seeing as they were already going this way in response to those sick arse grabbers....

While I'm not suggesting I'm any expert in Thai culture, thats not how I understand thai social interaction occurring. I think Abrak is on the mark with how things work - as much as that may grate on our western notions of equality etc.... Go back to the original post and read how JJ describes the girl...

It appears to me that blaming JJ for what happened is a bit out of left field.
The guy that grabbed her crotch is the culprit here, not JJ for getting a few feet away from his GF on a public street in downtown BKK.
You will see many respectable girls walking through Patpong during daytime hours. It is a shortcut from Silom to Suriwong and many of the office girls use the street to go between the two major roads. Are they free targets merely because of where they are walking?
Merely being in a particular location during daytime doesn't mark a lady as a hooker. Doesn't everybody see that?

EPC, well I agree with you, but I myself would not put my TGF in harms way. JJ may or may not have known that the sidewalk in front of both Tony Roma's and the Pomodoro is street walkers way. Half of them are ladyboys. So when walking there I have one arm on my TGF and the other holding my wallet. Both are good places to eat hence the reason why going there, but you have to cross the battle zone to get there. I would wish the Thai authorities would be more strict on enforcing the laws on the public sidewalks and keep the solicting to the bars, clubs, MP's and Nana parking lot.
This does not excuse the man's behavior. My TGF gets hit on practically every day traveling the Sukhumvitt coorridor to go to the gym, but in all cases to date they have been polite "Can I have you phone number?" and she tells them "No I already have a BF" and they say OK. No harm, No foul. This jerk is in the minority and if he continues this behavior he probably will get his just rewards.

I think one of the interesting things in this thread is just how many people think what this guy did was way out of line and not OK.
If she was a working girl or not many feel it was not correct to do this even though they were on Suk and I also agree.
What I find interesting but not at all surprising is the comments about this on a pussy forum.
Many people who don't go to Thailand looking for P4P think most of the guys who would be posting on a board like this would think that it was perfectly fine to do so.
Yet as many of the comments show even though we might go/live in Thailand and enjoy the P4P that doesn't mean we agree with such actions.
I think many people who criticize people who partake in P4P would be surprised at just what kind of comments have been posted on this thread and the length it has become.
I guess that is why people who ask me what it is like in Thailand and really want to know the truth even after I tell them still seem to have a blank look and I know they really haven't understood the point I have just told them.
I feel all Thai ladies should at least be able to walk the streets of BKK without having to put up with guys like this.
Now if it was 2AM that might be another story but we are talking about the middle of the day on a very main road in BKK.
Guys like this idiot give the rest of us a bad rap IMHO. Working or non working girl no one should be treated like that in the middle of the day on a main street.

"Finally we agreed to drop in at Tonys who has one of towns best rib-dinners."
Common sense would dictate that if it was in the middle of the day, that should have read "best rib-lunches.".

Your right just read it again it doesn't say mid day so could have been in the evening.
Now I rethink it. Even at 2AM his actions are still out of line IMHO.
