I've just got home after a BKK night out.......so I'll post properly in the morning.....Smeg and ABC you both got your info wrong...

Chuckie...I may hate your team but your 6-0 in this thread....but a Niner will sneak up on you from behind (thought you'd like that) and win this in OT in the morning.

Goodnight.

Unless I missed something the Cowboys are 3-1, although they have the best offense in the NFL (opinions of the sportscasters only).

If you want to count the pre-season (which there really is not reason to) they are 5-3.

The Colts on the otherhand are 5-0 and just beat the superbowl champs in overtime.  38-35.  I, like an idiot, turned off the TV with 5:28 left of the clock and I happened to missed the 3 touchdowns scored in under 4 minutes (an NFL first).  Now that is an offense!  All without James.

I love to hate the Cowboys. Much like I love to hate the Yakees (I'm a Boston fan), but we are talking about American Football here.  It's been a few years since the Cowboys could withstand.  But when they are on, they are really hard to beat.  It happens to be the reverse for my team.

ABC
Yurune:
So ... what's the 411?? Enlighten Smegma and myself.

49ers win one in overtime. Your living in the past. You sound just like a "40whinner". ÝLast time I checked the 9'ers lost two close games in the 4th quarter. What?? Going to go all "T.O" on us??

*football smack*
you embody "it's better to be lucky than to be good..." only your luck concerns me at this point... Ý

Actually ABC I was going to point out to you that The 49ers were the team of the 80's (4 Super Bowl Wins if you count the one in 1990, where the season was basically 1989) and Dallas was the Team of the 90's (3 wins)

Montana and Craig hardly played a game in the 90's for the Niners.

It didn't take a great deal of football knowledge to point that out, but feel free to try to expose my lack of knowledge again.

As for Smegma

"Football (soccer) is game of gentlemen played by animals. Rugby is a game of animals played by gentlemen."

Your quote is the wrong way round

"Football (soccer) is played by gentleman watched by animals. Rugby is played by animals and watched by gentlemen."

Soccer players 'gentlemen'....please....prima donna's more like...the van Nistelroy triple twist with penalty area lunge...Roy Keane...guffaw....Maricio Tarrico....idiot...

So to a point now the beer is out of my system, I can see truth in your version as well.

expatchuck.

Now I really know what a big Cowboys fan you are I'm impressed. Most Cowboys fans I know haven't been within 500 miles of Texas stadium and spout the 'America's Team' stuff, which is what always makes it so irritating.

The fourty-whiners (I'll say it for you) rivalry with the Cowboys was fantastic, hopefully we can get back into that situation again, I have little confidence in the new coach and I couldn't understand the sacking of the 'Mooch'. Parcells is a good short term answer for the Cowboys, however the most important appointment for the Cowboys for me will be the next coach. I see Bill already has you as statistically the best offence in the league (yards/game) I love stats, one of the fascinating things about the NFL. Your in the positive in terms of TOP.....Parcells trademark...just gotta get him that big back he loves so well.....and a QB...and two WR's....hahahaha....

Sadly I have not even been to the US since 1991, so my recent visits to NFL stadiums are nil. I have however seen games in The Orange Bowl, Texas Stadium, LA Coliseum, Candlestick Park (many), RFK (Skins 44 Cowboys 14 Danny White was QB), Anaheim, Soldier Field and The Meadowlands. I trust ABC, that for a Brit this does give some credibility to my 'vast' knowledge of the game.

But lastly

expat chuck
Cowboys suck....they just have a better record then the Niners at this stage!!

ABC...your team please??

Mr Nado...Am I right in remembering that James Lofton was essentially railroaded out of Green Bay after some sexual allegation??

Expat,

If you do not believe that Rugby is rough, try it sometime.  When I am in the UK, my buddies in the Terrortoral Guard love to take me out to paly rugby on Sunday's just so they can beat up on the Colonial.  We dull the pain with plenty of piss and the ladies on the sidelines are sure to care for our wounds...

A hell of a lot better than sitting on the sideline, drinking gatorade, and having your injury looked after by a guy.

Recommendation:  Watch the Kiwis beat up the Italians on Saturday..  It's World Cup Time!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about watching the Argentinian pack maul the Aussies on  Friday...they'll lose the game, but there is no way in the world that this Aussie front row can handle the this Puma front 3....Frightening.

Wow, this thing has a life of it's own. ÝDo you guys hate DALLAS or do you just hate me? ÝNow to piss off some more of you....

Yurune: ÝThank you for your responses. ÝYou seem to be very knowledgable in this area and have obviously actually been to some of the arenas. ÝI have never seen a game at other than Dallas (Cotton Bowl and Texas Stadium). ÝI only missed one game in four years at the old Cotton Bowl so I do go back a ways. ÝLike you, I thought the forty-whiners competition was quite good and fairly contested. ÝThere were some good games there. ÝLike you, I haven't been to the US since 1991 so most of my current knowledge comes from TV. ÝWe get ESPN and Fox Sports so I do have the venue for sports here.

I admire your information of the game but can only pity you for your choice of teams to support. ÝThe COWBOYS will prevail.

Mr. Sailor Man: ÝIf you will read earlier in this thread, you will see that I tried to play for a local rugby team a few years ago and they kicked me off for being too rough. ÝWhen all else fails, read the instructions.

And what's this about beating the Italians? ÝShit, everybody beats the Italians. ÝWhat's the claim to fame here? ÝI will be watching whatever games are on over here, however, unless there is a real football game on.

Walley: ÝI watched it also. ÝIt was early morning here and I was on the internet but listening to it. ÝWhen the score became 35-28, I started watching. ÝHell of a game. ÝSince you must be a colts fan, one of my most vivid memories is the COWBOY/colt Super Bowl with O'Brien (I think was his name) kicking that field goal in the last seconds to beat DALLAS. ÝMy memory centers around Bob Lilly hurling his helmet in anger as far as he could after the field goal. ÝI'll let Yurune handle the 6-0 thing.

OK, guys, off to work but I'm the boss so lets continue in a little bit. Ýf_ck work.

You want any more abuse?? Ý Ý

Morning Chuck....

I've got the answer...they told you it was for being rough, but in fact they  were too kind to tell you you were talentless and wouldn't make the team.....

Actully I played against the US Marine Corp Rugby team a few years ago and it was pointless, they were bigger, faster, stronger than us....our prop drank a bottle of JD a night...(pisshead team)...but in the scrums, we pushed them back all afternoon....easily...hell I even played in the pack that day....they had absolutely no technique. hey also didn't know the rules....we were subjected to a performance like an offensive line, blocking in front of the man, totally illegal, but the ref was theirs and they were allowed to do it.

Worst game of rugby I ever played....

Expat,

I did read the thread, the problem is that you did not follow the rules.  Until you are in a ruck you cannot block, cut tackle, or trip; you gotta use your arms.  Once in a ruck, if you are on the bottom, you are dead....
