The BG jealousy thing must be something like the Ford dealer back home you may have bought a car from him last year, but he will hate seeing you drive by in a new BMW this year. The pushing past you dos appear to happen to you more in Asia, as a regular user of the HK MTR I got used to it. So did the guys on the first train out in the morning, I know they were in a hurry at the interchange but they should not cut me off, they found out that a size 12 stuck out would soon trip em up. After a few mornings of this they did manage to pass me with out cutting me off or banging into me. Haven driven in many different countries I have found some strange ways and can tell you none stanger than back in the UK. UKP.

Okay, not high up there on the hmm scale, but I went down to the local 7/11 the other day to buy shaving cream and while they have razors, they don't have shaving cream. Curious, i've checked several more 7/11's but no go. I did find some at Boots, but what's the deal with the missing shaving cream? ah, a land of mysteries.... Cheers, Hank

It seems to be the case that the Siam BTS station down escalator travels faster than most thai girls can (or will) walk. I always allow *extra* room for my departure, as I know otherwise I'll collide with whoever was in front of me. On a more general note, I've found that the thai people have a greater ability to get underfoot than I'm used to: Wherever I wanted to walk to, they'll step in front of me. Not because they're in a rush, of course. The problem is usually that they've nowhere to go at all, meandering without purpose or intent, oblivious to the fact that they're in a public thoroughfare. Street vendors are the worst for this. And both of these things no longer make me go "hmmm..." so here's one that did: Yesterday in Siam BTS, I caught a group of thai girls walking up the steps next to the up-escalator. That was a genuine first. Although I suspect they did it just to get underfoot (which they did).

I quit using shaving cream many years ago. I just use soap.

They do have shaving cream at 7-11. But if you are the shy type and hope to find it in the aisles among other toiletry products and grab it by yourself and take it to the cashier, you will never find it. They keep it behind the counter. You have to ask for it.

Yeah, I admit I only asked for it at the first 7/11, maybe they were just out of stock. Thanks, Hank
