Yes, you can - the iPod works as an exteral HD just as well. The problem seems to be related to you cd/dvd mechanism. Seeing as how you've got a PC, I'd suggest just going and picking up another cheap mechanism from Panthip of Fortune Town IT Mall, replacing what's there, and it should now work. Harry

Yeah, you need an ordinary CD-ROM to read VCDs. These things go for as little as THB 500 nowadays. Check that you have enough IDE's left though.
