What is the Chinese 'year zero' based on, i.e. what is the null reference in Chinese. Obviously, they don't celebrate some long-dead carpenter's birth, nor wait for his return, but what *DID* happen 4,701 years ago?
...and while we're at it, same question about the Thai calendar, and what happened 2,456 years ago?
