granted i am a newbie to LOS. but i think it would be fun as hell. surfed the internet looking at tours available now. all of them were way too sleazy or expensive 1500-2100 US$ for 10- 14 days not inclusive of airfare half the time. shit wouldn't it be better to have a local expat (who likes nothing better than prowling any way) tour you around for 50 bucks a day (plus drinks for the guide) granted that seems exorbitant given thai pricing but it is sure as shit better than guys spending about 750$ (figure that is the profit for tour guide services after hotel booking's transfers blah blah blah, really just guessing could be higher or lower)
anyway i don't know if that kind of thing is strictly for suckers. i did quite well without guidance. and for about the same amount of money you can get a TG to do the same for you. then again there is something to be said for having a native english speaker as your guide.
some of you may be thinking shit why not just meet up with a couple bro's from this site for free buy everyone a round of drinks and just soak up the wisdom? my answer being day time responsibilties.
just rambling now i bring this up because i organized a bunch of friends to go swimming last night so we could lounge out by a lake and watch the meteor shower (the perneids) it was fun. whatever. my friend asked me if i had ever considered being a tour guide because i planned our little outing in the face of outright laziness and stonyness by my friends, who in the postscript were really glad i dragged there asses out. in short (ha ha) i have lost my concentration

Hired a tour guide one day. After that I simply went to a bar early on and found someone I liked who spoke reasonable English and BF her out for the day. Toured all over the place, bought lunch and maybe dinner and then took her back to the bar in time to catch an all niter. tipped a couple hundred baht and they were thrilled to get the day off, food, touring and back in time for the action.

Anything remotely like a sex tour gets pounded into the dust. Most recent example: the 'Love Boat' case in Phuket. Small farang love boat versus large Thai Love Cruise Ships, which one gets busted?
Farang are barred from being tour guides.
