Is there any waterparks, like those in the USA in LOS, anywhere. If yes, where, how much, how popular, if no should we establish an exploratory comission to see if can hook up some builders with the thai authorities? BKK has water, cheap electricity, cheap labor and plenty of people to enjoy the good weather...

Sawasdee ka KF,

the most welknown and long time established waterpark in Thailand is called "Suan Siam" or aka "Siam Park". The Park is big, have a giant slider, super spirals, immitated beach. A new campaign has added "clean water" in the title now. Nothing like Wet'n'wild or Sixflags. But it's what we have to offer.

http://www.siamparkcity.com sorry the website is in Thai.

There are ones builded on top roof of shopping centers buildings such as The Mall Bangkapi, Central City Bangna etc. which are not far from residental areas.

I have thought how Thailand needs more waterparks too. I think at the heart of the problem is the shyness of the Thai. Imagine a waterpark full of fully clothed and wet thai teenagers. Would have to be unnaturally cheap as well

I been to "Siam Park" last september, it is a large but OLD park, all the instalation look like what you can see in "Flipper the Dolphin". It look like it was built during the 60's and never really renovated, so some/most of the "attractions" are closed or out of order!
Its still a nice place to go if you like to go and have fun with young Thai peoples
When I was there there was some very young kids from an orphanage place along the fake-concrete-beach, we had fun with them for nearly 1 hours with my TG.

When I was in Bangkok in June, we went to a waterpark on top of Mall 7. Not a big waterpark but it had a large pool, flooting river and several slides. It was rather cozy.
