Here's an interesting little essay I came across - a Disney park enthusiast went to THailand's Dreamworld, and noted some startling similiarities to a well-known Magic Kingdom. http://miceage.com/guest/gu011405a.htm Quite amusing, really. Has anyone ever had the chance to venture to Dreamworld? What's it like?

15 months ago, a naive, wide-eyed newbie post an FR. NanaHottie sees snow and goes sledding at DreamWorld http://bkkx.com...forum=9&topic=591 It was fun... it might have been because of the company, it might be been because I was a relative newbie then. I want to go back... not to Dreamland, but to being a newbie!

That sounds like fun. Not returning to being a newbie...5555, but taking the bodyguards to Dreamworld. Snow town sounds interesting. It would be fun to take them sledding, although right now I'm sick of snow. We got 19 1/2 feet of the stuff in the last 2 weeks.....555.

I've been more than once, and it's compareable more to King's Dominion or Busch Gardens It used to be called Dynaramic or something like that and was on Pahon Yothin Road right near Rasa Tower you can still see the remaining statues etc. inside the fencing the new Dream World is North-East of BKK and easy enough to get to, the only real traffic is at the entrance of Dream World itself right now they are offering pickup from any BKK hotel, buffet lunch, and entrance to Snow Town for only 1k most of the rides are for children, but they have a couple of coaster and an Octopus that is ALWAYS broken when I am there (the Octopus) the go-carts are good fun, but the track is quite small, bring your swimming gear and some ziploc bags if the weather is warm, they have some water rides there now as well Snow Town didn't do it for me, reminded me WAY too much of home and how much I do NOT miss snow but it did give me a little reminder how great LOS life/weather is

I was there last week and its OK. Very tame compared to what you get elsewhere but I took a party of kids and they loved it - especially snow town where yes they get muffled up and can do sledding. Its actually VERY good value at around 270 entrance with about 90% of the rides then free (notable NOT snow town). You get one "pass" for every ride but if you dont use them up you can go back another day and use them without having to pay again. All in all its nothing compared to disney etc but it WAS fun - I'd reccommend it for a day out.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned before - BUT there is a pretty good Fun-Park temporarily situated near the IMPACT ARENA at Muang Thong Thani ( near ChaengWattana ). It opened to the public on 24th. December 2004 and closes on 15th. February 2005. All the equipment for this Fun Park has been brought down from the U.K. and they also have at least one U.K. technician at each ride. The rides at this Fun Park are far and away superior to those available at any other Amusement Park in Thailand - with at least 70% of the rides not available at all elsewhere in Thailand. ( eg. G-Force, A huge Ferris Wheel with Air-Conditioned Gondolas, and many others that I don't know the names for ). Of course, this Fun Park will be no great deal for those who come from countries ( or those who have visited countries ) where such Amusement Parks abound. BUT - for the local population this is like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The entrance fee is cheap at B20 per person - BUT the individual rides are expensive by Thai standards ( ranging from B50 per person per ride to B350 per person per ride.). There are also a large number of " Games of Skill or Chance" Stalls - BUT these are quite expensive, not so easy to win and quite addictive, so you could end up draining your resources. It opens at 4 P.M. on week-days and at 2 P.M. on week-ends and closes at 10 P.M. ( BTW after 6.30 P.M. when darkness sets in and all the decorative lights are turned on - it is a beautiful sight to behold ). If you would like to give your special TG / BG something she will really enjoy then I recommend you take her there.
