Have you guys ever wondered about our drives, our impestuous beginnings, the very cruxst of our motivations which brought us to where we sit today?
I'll start. In my early years, I was somehow surrounded by a host of creatures that masqueraded as my community. For instance, Vance Bateman, this kid had, at a tender young age, taken a huge bite out of an electrical cord and since wore a lovey jaw to forehead jagged scar from which, (I guess) his face had been blown out. And my best friends Tommys Uncle, a Korean War vet, who could (on better days), only make it to his front porch before passing out. But never after waking up his neighborhood with "the howl of the beast".
There was "fizzle head", the kid in fourth grade, who was apparently the last one out of the burning house. His head was one mass of twisted scar tissue. I signed on a Danish freighter the spring I turned 22 and went off to S. America.
In Colombia I found I enjoyed the company of whores. Less BS, more fun and a frankness about life and their place in it.
