Slightly unusual subject and not sure if anyone can help. My Thai gf is visiting me in Europe. We have visa so no problem there. I want to take her to Turkey on a sailing holiday with my kids. I have no idea about visa requirements for Thai citizens going into Turkey. The embassy in BKK has no website and I can find nothing in the Thaivisa forum. I can get my gf to call the embassy but, well, she is very nice but not the brightest......so I am trying to help her1 Anyone know anything?

This is way in the dark here but one of my mates is half Turkish and he lives here in BKK and he was trying to get her a visa for Germany for his girl and he got one no problem but he told me that if he was having problems he could get her a Turkish visa more easy and Turkey had singed some sort of visa agreement with about 16 other countries for easy travel for tourist etc. Hope this helps also the Turkish embassy is near sutisan soi haasadaseewee. Or lad prao 64 Who's buying the beers

Thai folk going to Turkey need a visa that should be applied for in advance along with the usual forms, copy of passport, pictures etc., that your girl can get from the address below. The visa lasts for 3 months. Address: 61/1 Soi Chatsan, Suthisarn Rd, Phayathai, Bangkok 10310 Tel: 274 7262-3; Fax: 274 7261 Cheerio PS: I had a minute to spare so I called the Turkey embassy here (KSA). Edit In: You might consider getting her a shengen visa. This wont be directly useful with UK or Turkey but it makes travelling in some other European countries easier and if she has this then the Turks might be more willin' to grant her a multiple exit/entry.

Since our TG already has a visa for a European country, there won't be any hassle getting a visa to Turkey. The reason TGs often have problems getting visas is that embassy officials assume they will overstay. But if she has a visa to Europe, the Turks know she isn't going to remain in Turkey. Only thing to check is that the visa to the European country allows her to re-enter from Turkey. Some visas are only good for one entry, once you leave, it's dead, no matter if doesn't expire for weeks. Sometimes you can get multiple entry visas that are good for three or six months, other times the visa will allow you to exit and re-enter within a seven-day period.Just check with the authorities of the European country that her visa is good for re-entry.

shengen visa will help, now like in the uk with my thai wife but we still have to apply in person to the embassies of ths countries we visist in europe. Her visa is a uk settlement visa, 2 years muliple entry, and we have had no problems visiting anywhere in europe. USA was more forms and documents but again no problem for genuine people. Contact the local Turkish Consulate/Embassy for application forms - dont rely on entry on arrival with shengen visa. God Luck
