I bought sex toys on Silom Road near Patpong about two months ago but I checked this last weekend and they aren't there anymore.

If you are bringing in two suitcase-loads of sex toys you wil be stopped and the 'goods' confiscated, only because they will assume that you are importing them with the intention to sell them.
if you are bringing in one or two, then they wil be seen as 'for personal' or persanal use.
Anyone coming into LOS who doesn't want the 'stress' of carrying anything to be embarrassingly publicly plucked out of your luggage in the presence of the group of church-goers you engaged with in an eight hour long discusion on the plane about the declining morality in the world, should buy the solitary items before they leave and post them to themselves here in Thailand, labelled 'Used bedroom-fitting'.
DHL, Fedex and a few other services are fairly quick and very reliable, but expensive.....and you don't want them to arrive before you get here. If you are intending to stay for any length of time, then maybe the ordinary parcel post is an option.
If you are already here, just buy over the internet or get a friend who is visiting to bring you one or two of the variety of your choice.
I know one bar where one of the ladies held an auction for about a dozen that were surplus to use. But then, some peole wouldn't like the idea of buying 'second-hand'.
