planning on taking a short 2.5 day sojourn to cambodia and really don't feel like dragging my big suitcase along. does anyone know if hotels will keep the luggage intact if i'll be returning for more time there?

or, is there a secure location that I can store my stuff for a fee?

Probably almost every hotel in BKK would do this if you are returning there after your trip. I've done this often, only once they charged me a very small amount per day for luggage storage.

You can ask when you arrive, then don't stay there if they say no.

Or you could always keep the hotel room while you are away and leave your bags in the room. The cost of a room for 2 or 3 nights is not going to break the bank. You could then keep the hotel safety box going as well if you want to leave any valuables behind.

Koolbreez did that (keep the hotel room at the Manhattan) when he and I went to Myanmar for 6 days. Worked just fine.

To extend my business empire, perhaps I should open DrLove's luggage storage....

DrLove I don't think that is a bad idea. The luggage storage question is asked on every forum countless times. Suggested fee 100 baht a day.

I've done this a couple of times in Thailand, no problem, no cost (but I might have been lucky with hotels, just ask).

In pattaya I stayed at Tim's Royal "something" and left my suitcase and some of my valuables behind when going with my girl to Koh Samet for a few days. I heard a few stories about people being robbed at the islands, so I split up the cash/cards.

No problemos, the people at the reception made a big deal about counting my money and giving me a detailed receipt (the money being my backup money if both my cards shoul fail, be stolen or similar). Everything was intact when I returned.

drlove, this is no joke, I as well was thinking about asking you (since you had the tour service) if you had, or knew of someone, that had this service.

i think it would make someone quite a bit of cash once good reviews started hitting the boards...

I was joking, I would never accept anyone's luggage to be stored in my apartment.... unless I knew him very well....
