Absolut Bar in Soi 7/1 always have a great band, I'm normally drunk by the time they start but Barrafish tells me they are very good, even if they are just a little loud for his liking.

Most of the songs I hear from Absolut Bar (if I happen to walk by) are recent hip hop style songs.
Perhaps Country Road in Desolation Soi (between Soi 5 and Soi 7) would fit the bill... although perhaps the songs are more 70s than 80s.
Didn't visit the new Country Road above Foodland Soi 5 yet... but I guess the band is there who used to play for over 20 years in Country Road Soi 19.

Country Rd was OK for 80s Covers
What about Moonshine Bar Soi 22 not far from Titanium
there's two 
I ate at Mojos a few years back (soi 33)
Food was Good and the Band played good as well
The Londoner (soi33) used to have 60s 70s 80s Music
Space for rent would know better.
