Hi all.
Planning to visit BKK in March for 5 days.
I planned it to be pleasure "ONLY" but turns out that I have to attend some meetings w/some clients there.
It's a pretty formal meeting so I have to wear a suit to the meetings.
You guys think it's better to cross the city and get changed to normal casual clothing before heading out for fun?
Or will be OK (or better??) to be all suited up when going to bars / soapies / OM's?
I know it's gonna be freeeeking hot and humid but I don't wanna haul my ass all the way back to the hotel to change just to "blend in" with the crowd.

Going to the bars or clubs in your suit would be fine, but you'll really feel out of place with a suit in a massage place.

just for gods sake in the club at least take ur tie off and undo your top button to look a bit more casual
or just take a casual shirt in your briefcase
personally I would go back freshen up and change and dump my biz papers etc
theres no where in bangkok that u cant get too quickly with skytrain or taxi on freeway etc
u will feel better for it, shower, shit, clean ur teeth, dash of old spice etc, then go out

Might I suggest you get a hotel room closer to the action. It sounds like you have a hotel room quite a ways away. Why? Are you bringing the wife with?
Why did you get a hotel room away from the action if you originally planned for a pleasure only trip? It sounds like the work was organized after the trip was.
Or bring your change of clothes with you, then rent a cheap room for a night, and change there, also using it for your mongering for the evening.

I have stopped in many times to an oily on the way home from the office and never had any issue. Normally get a cab from the office to very near the oily so you are in airconditioning. In the cab I remove my tie. The comments you get from the shop are generally very favourable (you dressed up etc.). Outside that, everything else is normal. Yes it may be a little "odd" to go for a masage wearing a suit but who cares as long as it is a good session.
